OG’s Sports Grill bares the initials of owner Oscar Gonzalez, who’s long life dream has been to own a sports grill. Vice president and head chef, Noel Gomez, a Honduran National, specializes in his nation’s popular dishes such as pollo con tajadas and enchiladas catrachas. The stromboli’s were excellent. It was one of the best stromboli’s I’d ever had aside from the fact that I had to pick out the mushrooms. I ordered with only chicken, cheese, and onion. I told the young lady waiting on us but she didn’t seem to care. The service was terrible and we had to wait to even be greeted. The restaurant wasn’t busy.

A great location for a late night dinner! I was driving home and I wanted a big meal to end my vacation with, and since this place is open late, I came straight here!
Definitely a casual, sports bar sort of environment, or at least the menu is if that’s what you were looking to eat! There is an upstairs floor where the bar actually is, and that’s where you’ll find the sports games as well!
The cheese sticks, Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, and the cheesecake for dessert were a perfect combination!

First time grabbing the OG experience. Tried as much as 3 people could eat and very happy to say everything was delicious. The garlic knots were banging. Philly cheese was perfect as was the Buffalo wrap. Appetizers were a hit as well. If I wasn’t heading back to work I would have had a ice cold beer cause the place was very inviting to hangout. Best wishes to this new eatery in downtown Asheboro.

Great food. Great service. Very chill environment. Their onion rings and hot chips are just the way we love them. Nice and hot with that crunch in every bite. I got the Philly cheese steak sub. My wife got the chicken gyro and my son got the chicken deluxe sub and each were really delicious . Their agua de horchata was really good as well. I’m VERY picky about it so I hardly ever get it at restaurants but once I took a sip from my wife’s, I knew I would be definitely getting it when we return. Overall a great place to eat and enjoy yourselves.

First time customer, long-time visitor to downtown Asheboro. I was flying solo this particular evening and decided to give OG’s a try. Downstairs is typical booth, sit-down seating. The bar is upstairs, and standard in size and appearance for more sports bars. Plenty of big screen TV’s upstairs to see whatever sporting event is on.
Beer options are plenty, as too was the vast collection of liquors along the backside of the bar. The menu offers options for any mood: Pizza, calzones, Stromboli’s, pasta, subs, hamburgers, gyros, wings, wraps, salads, tacos, and full entree Mexican options…it’s mixed bag and really more options than anyone would need. But, if you don’t know what you want to eat, odds are you’ll find it on their menu.
I ordered the chicken gyro with chips. The chips were crispy and delicious as advertised in other reviews. The gyro had good flavor but the tenderness was too overcooked – chicken was too dry, but that is common among most restaurants because they want to make sure it’s done (the USDA has people overcooking chicken with their recommended internal temps). I followed up with an order of teriyaki chicken wings that were cooked to perfection – crispy! In fact, they were so good, I forgot to take a picture. I’ll definitely be back to try several other items on the menu.

OG’s Sports Grill in Asheboro is awesome! The food is always fresh and full of flavor, and the service is super friendly. It’s a great place to watch a game, hang out with friends, or grab a solid meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back. Definitely one of my favorite local spots!

We were in town for the day so we went to the zoo then stopped in OG’s for a drink and snack before heading back. We sat at the upstairs bar and Parlee was our bartender/server. I asked for a specific drink she was unfamiliar with but we talked about what went in it and she whipped it right up. It was delicious! We order the potato skins and the chicken nachos. OMG…..they were both so good and flavorful!! This was one of my fav places we found while in town. The food was fabulous and Parlee was great! We had great conversation and an overall GREAT experience.
