I’m deeply concerned about the staff and service standards at this establishment. During my recent visit, we were met with immediate hostility from the bartender, who was condescending and rude. To make the matters worse, a man pushed my friend and the staff did nothing to intervene or check on us. It’s unacceptable for a business to allow such aggressive behavior to go unchecked while their staff adds to the negative atmosphere. Save your money and go somewhere where you actually feel safe and welcome.

Too bright for a real “dive bar”. Sports bar without a real sports bar feel. Just feels put together and underserved. Utterly indifferent bartender and 18 bucks for a beer and shot of Jamison is absurd. More five-up than dive. Like a 90s era minivan. Tell me you’ve given up without telling me you’re giving up is the vibe. A pool hall…with dirty tables, bad felt and zero hand chalk. Part sports bar, part dive bar, part pool hall but 100 % fully bad.
It’s like a government run nursing home for wasted dreams.

This run of the mill sports pub fits the bill for being a place to drop by at night when you would like a drink and a place to hang out with friends. I don’t believe it serves a good purpose beyond that, especially because the service is sub average.
I also wasn’t able to play pool with friends because the machines only take coins and there’s no way to get coins if you didn’t bring some. The poutine we ordered was good and we got generous pours for our whiskey, so it isn’t all negative.

Very unwelcoming staff. The music was too loud. It’s nice that they have 8 pool tables, but there’s really nothing that makes me want to come back.

A solid four stars for Off the Rails Sports Club! My overall experience was positive, especially on a less crowded Friday. The pool tables were a bit busy, but that didn’t overshadow the enjoyment. The highlight was the fantastic pizza – a delicious addition to the evening. Looking forward to more visits!

Been going here for over 20 years. Nice little hangout if you play pool or want to join a pool league. Pool leagues plays Sunday-Thursday, so tables aren’t available for everyone between certain hours of these days, usually 5pm-10pm.

I shoot a lot of pool here, and have tried several of their food dishes. Their food portions are extremely generous! I recommend giving the Otter Balls a try. It’s a marinated 10oz steak cubed into bite sized pieces. Delicious! In the mood for a sandwich? Get the cheese steak dip. Want something “lighter”? Chicken Caesar salad (it’s huge!)

Food is decent, female bartender is rude, prices are high for the quality of food. Biggest peeve…..The pool tables need to be replaced asap. You can’t even rack the balls on them. The owner needs to spend some money on the tables since the cloth hasn’t been replaced in years. A major reason people come to this place is to play pool. If you can’t even rack a set of balls because the tables aren’t level how in the hell is the game going to be good???

The first time I went was on a Thursday shortly after their weekly pool league finished up. It was still very lively inside. One of my friends who is in the league invited me to check it out.
For me the most important aspects of a great dive is not how cheap and dingy everything looks and feels but how well they do basics. For me, Off the Rails hits every point so well.
I’ve see. What this location looked like back when it was Mustard Seed and that was a pretty bog standard, dingy dive. When OTR took over, they removed most of the booth seating to make room for more pool tables and they are excellent tables at that. Nicely felted, even, and well maintained. OTR is worth a visit just for the pool tables.
What sets this place apart for me was their rotating selection of draft beers and their immaculate hand cut battered fries. Their food was beyond what a small dive kitchen should be putting out. The fries I had were truly crispy and hot on the outside and creamy smooth on the inside. The perfect thickness for the type of fries they make. I ended up ordering their philly roast beef sandwich with fries and their popcorn chicken. The chicken was moist and crunchy but I do wish it had a bit more 5-spice seasoning for a little extra kick but everyone’s taste can be different.
The last point was everything was generally very clean and the atmosphere was comfortable. Not too much seating, but most people seem to coming for the pool tables specifically. The service was great for only having 2-3 people working.
In summary, if you haven’t been to OTR, go. It is easily the best pool bar in the state. And bring your friends!

When I first walked in, I wasn’t sure… The vibe felt a little too much like it was about money games for pool. Inside of 2 rounds of drinks, we met 5 or 6 locals who were nothing but cool. They taught my Israeli friend the rules of 9-ball, and within 45 minutes, I felt like a regular. Very cool place. I will be back. And props to the bartenders who were working hard!
