Tried out their new brunch menu and it was delightful! The prices felt reasonable as well considering the quality. It definitely felt several steps up from a diner breakfast. We tried the pancakes, waffles, brisket hash, full Monty, and fungi Benedict. I would definitely return for brunch.

Everything was absolutely amazing. We had a total out of body experience with each bite, the food and deserts are totally off the rails! Best restaurant in Vermont in my opinion, the steak was top notch, all the food was great, pricey but worth it especially once. Highly recommend it for the area!

A friend and I dined at Off The Rails this evening for the first time. We made a reservation for 4pm and were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant. We started with a couple cocktails off the menu – the Raspberry Margarita and Perfect Paloma – both of which were delicious. Next up we ordered the crispy harissa glazed wings to share. If you’re a chicken wing fan, these are a must-try. Sauced up something fierce but still crispy skinned and wicked juicy with bold flavor. Best wings I’ve had in a very long time. For my main course I had the VT Piggy Flatbread. This was by far the best wood fired pizza I’d ever had, (and that’s saying a lot, as Bluestone in Waterbury was my go-to restaurant before it closed – if you know, you know). To me, a pizza is truly exemplar when you take a bite of just the crust – no toppings or goodies with it – and it’s got the perfect combination of wood-fired crispy, soft squishy dough and smooth flavor. This pizza had it all: pork belly, baked brie, pickled onions, apple, bacon, cheddar and maple syrup. A beautiful creation. Throughout the course of our dinner I also tried the Coconut Mojito and Bees Knees made by our very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable bartender, Lena. This was truly a meal to write home about. If you’re On The Fence about Off The Rails, consider this your sign to give it go. To the Owner & Chef, Shawn, and GM, Katie, cheers to you both. What a beautiful addition to the town – you should be proud. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

A delightful surprise in st. Albans! Interesting menu that was well done, some gluten free options which I appreciated. I got the brisket Benedict and substituted their gluten free corn bread muffin and it was very good. My family were impressed by the bourbon pancakes as well

We had a party of five go on the day of the eclipse right before closing. The food was amazing and they were very friendly considering that they had an extremely busy day. I will be returning here on a frequent basis!

We came on a Sunday around 3pm. The hours online vs on the door are different. The place was mostly empty, we were greeted and seated shortly after coming in. The waitress was nice. Great food options (including vegan, gluten free, vegetarian). My friend and I split the burger and gyro, both were tasty. LOVED the fries. The only thing I was really disappointed with was they were out of their vegan chocolate peanut butter milkshake. That was actually the reason my friends and I chose to come eat at the restaurant, so we’d take the milkshakes to go. The waitress said they haven’t had that in a while so I hope they take it off of their menu on Google if they don’t plan on having it anymore..

Eat before you go.
We arrived at 5:55 for our 6 pm reservation for 4.
We were seated and brought waters and asked for our drink order.
Our drinks arrived at the table at 6:18.
Our food order was taken at 6:29.
We were told that the kids could not have flatbread because they were sold out.
So our order was 1 Calimont Mix Salad, 1 Caesar salad, 1 kids pasta with red sauce and fries, and 1 flank steak w/side salad and fries.
At 7:20 we were asked if we would like a second drink, and I said we would like more water (because it had been empty for 15 minutes).
At 7:45, after 1 hour and 16 minutes, we were delivered 1 very over-cooked flank steak, 1 side salad, 2 fries, 1 kids pasta with NO sauce, 1 Caesar salad, and 1 Calimont salad.
We sent back the over-cooked flank steak and said don’t bother bringing another one, we didn’t want it. It took another 5 minutes for them to bring the correct kids pasta with red sauce.
When the check arrived, we were still charged $28 for a flank steak we did not eat. The bartender took it off the bill when we requested that.
From being seated to getting food was 1 hour and 45 minutes, so if you plan to eat here, I would eat before you arrive at the restaurant.

Less than pleasant dinning experience overall. Staff was great, food was good. Extremely hot in the dining area and left early due to it. Pricing is a bit high for the quantity and presentation received. I Ordered scallops and caviar for $34 which included 5 scallops and a few caviar eggs. Great food but my table was served after an hour of waiting, I didn’t receive my plate until 30 minutes after the rest of my party without my entrees. My son and I had to leave before we were served and took it to go due to it being roughly 80-85 degrees inside. After a $400 bill for 5 people I’d expect this establishment to be able to afford an ac condenser, or maybe even a box fan. My family has been going to one federal for over 10 years with great experiences. we were excited to experience the new ownership/management and everything that comes with it but after this endeavor, we probably should go to nellys and dodge the bar fights in their air conditioned establishment. this is the most entitled and snooty thing I’ve ever written, I swear im not a flat lander 😉

Excellent food and service. The menu is a bit confusing and the dining room is missing something to tie it together with the price point on the food but I would definitely recommend it.
