We checked out this new BBQ place right around the corner from our house today. I gotta say, we’re impressed!! We had the sliced brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends and they were absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I could cut the burnt ends with a plastic fork! That’s how tender and juicy they were! The BBQ beans and Mac & Cheese were awesome too! We will definitely be back soon! ❤️ (Do yourself a favor and get an Off the Hook Margarita! YUM!!)

Tried this place for the first time last night after driving by for weeks. It did not disappoint. We tried the sampler plate since it was a new place. Probably the best wings I’ve had in KC. I’m picky about my beans but man these were top 2 in the city. Melt in your mouth brisket and very flavorful ribs and turkey. Had a great time chatting with the owners son and learning their history. Love supporting local small businesses and will definitely be back over and over again.

I along with plenty of family and friends were invited for a loved one’s surprise birthday luncheon. 10/10 experience we were well accommodated plus the food was delicious. My leftovers tasted even better the next day. My favorites so far are the brisket, ribs, baked beans, and toast. I plan to try more of the menu.

Finally tried this place, and they did not disappoint. Very good food. The brisket Mac and cheese is legit, and so were the brisket nachos (which I ordered with fries instead of chips). The brisket is finely chopped and soooo tender. I was really impressed. We will be back.

Excellent BBQ here! Had the two meat combo and one side. Brisket was tender and delicious. The sausage had a nice bite to it and was very flavorful. Mac and cheese was great too. The wing meal is also a great option as you get 3 full wings and a side. Wings were huge and cooked to perfection!

I just ate there for the first time and was very impressed. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and fries. The brisket was very tender and flavorful. The fries were fresh and nice and crisp. They have two sauces, regular and spicy.

So brave to open a new BBQ place in Kansas City with so many good choices around. Well, happy to report, it is now our favorite bbq place in KC! I almost didn’t put bbq sauce (which was delicious) on my brisket sandwich because the flavor was amazing! Will bring all future visitors here!!! Pulled pork and burnt ends (Tues-sat) was just as good.

Stopped by to see the new BBQ location in town. Stopped by during their soft opening which had a limited menu. I chose the pulled pork and my companion chose the hotdog. We both enjoyed our meals. I would not say it is the best I have had in town but it was worth the stop for lunch. I look forward to seeing what they have when they are fully up and running.

I have been hearing lots good stuff about this new BBQ restaurant and decided to put it on the list. Had a great lunch there today with my friend Todd. We both ordered the sliced brisket sandwich. Todd had the fries and I tried the beans for my side dish. Everything was great and I was very impressed with the baked beans. Easy to find on the west side of North oak trafficway near 75th with plenty of parking. You enter an ample dining room and order at the counter, then seat yourself and the friendly staff will bring you your food to the table. Although the joint was jumping at the lunch hour we had no trouble finding a table and there was lots of counter seating. I predict great success for Wardell Hooks as his passion for the art of BBQ is obvious. I am sure to return with the princess soon to sample the rest of the menu.
