We are looking for a local seafood place and found this one. It felt more like a mom & pop kind of restaurant with regulars who knew the staff pretty well.
The place only accepts cash or checks for payment. Not a big deal, the fish market next door has an atm. Their prices aren’t absurd.
I chose the seafood platter broiled. It was not tasty.
We also had the fried salmon. It was breaded. I liked that it was thinly breaded but still, not very tasty.
The pasta salad tasted good.
The carrot cake was good. The frosting, too sweet.
The staff is friendly and courteous.

This was a fantastic surprise little place we stumbled across. We were on our way home from a family vacation looking for one last taste of fresh seafood when we found this on a Google search. I went for the fish and chips (shown) the Mrs went for the crab cakes and a cup of the clam chowder. The kid a cheese burger.. no sense of adventure . I can tell you I don’t know what the types of fish were but every last piece was delicious! The crab cakes were also amazing (she shared with me). Personally I liked them better than the one we tried at a fancy place in Salem! Not saying that the other was bad there was just something special about these ones. The clam chowder has also another home run in both of our books. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a no frills all flavor meal. The staff was also very inviting and made sure everything was good. It’s cash only but there is a very reasonable ATM right next door in the market side of the building. A+++ all around.

Decent food for a decent price. Service was quick and friendly. The food was pretty bland and not a lick of seasoning to be found. I had crab cakes, potatoes, fries and seafood salad. The crab cakes did not live up to the staff’s description of homemade with king crab in it. I’m still looking for the crab. They tasted frozen. The seafood salad was the best item. It had big chunks of crab and shrimp which was a first for me. There’s usually only crab. The potatoes were decent. I almost forgot the Manhattan clam chowder. I had such high hopes, but all the salt and pepper in the restaurant couldn’t save it. They have a great concept and lots of folks seem to enjoy the food. Overall, I would pass in the future.

Excellent seafood market. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Uncle Dave gave me a good deal on 7 lbs of shrimp. They were awesome.
He’s not actually my uncle. There are two Dave’s there. Apparently he’s the uncle. In fact, I’ve never met him only spoke to him on the phone, he was very friendly.
I dealt with the nephew Dave and what I assume is Uncle Dave’s wife. As I said everyone was friendly and helpful.

Scallops had funny taste. Fried fish was ok. Frankly don’t know what i was thinking choosing this place. But we don’t know this town, may be is the best one around for seafood.

I read through most of the reviews about this place. Overall my wife and I were satisfied. Service was good. I wasn’t shocked by the prices or that cash only pay. I was also glad that they offer broiled fish. The place was a bit dark and dated but the food and price was good. While I don’t mind breaded and fried cod I do prefer beer battered and fried. Not available there. Also with the pile of fries they give there was no malt vinegar at the condiments station. Guess that’s just a Western NY thing or Five-Guys thing. Will go back but BYO malt vinegar.

Anytime I am in the area I am sure to stop here. They have fish fry dinners, clam dinners, all sorts of seafood dinners for under $20. Everything is fresh and you can buy your own seafood and cook it up yourself if you prefer. Their food is delicious and such a treat. The owner and staff have always been so friendly and welcoming and helpful. Never ever had a bad experience here. They do have a sit down restaurant next to the store. I will note that at least in the store they do not take card, they have an ATM on site if needed, but it’s cash only. Highly recommend this place to meet your non-commercialized seafood needs.

10-2023. First visit. What attracted me to this restaurant was reading they have been in business for 47 years! This is a combination fresh fish market and restaurant. The fried seafood platter was good and the chowder was tasty! We enjoyed talking to the owner.

I went in there because I was in the mood for seafood. I decided to get the seafood platter. It was all deep-fried, and was kind of rubbery. The Pollock was OK but the sweet potato fries were quite greasy and not too good. The lady was nice at the counter and the girl who brought my food out was nice but the food was maybe 2 to 3 stars at mostly just a deep fried mess.
