This place us great. We made reservations for a table and it was a good thing cause it was packed. The purple drink was very delicious as was the catfish and red beans & rice. The upstairs patio was beautiful and added to the vibe. The music was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. There was a parking lot right across from the bar.

I had very high hopes for this location. My hubby and I saw it on Check Please and immediately made reservations. The day we arrived the streets were blocked due to an Oakland marathon. The marathon actually worked in our favor because you had to know the area to figure out how to get around the barricades to make it to the restaurant and for a Sunday it was quite. The wait staff was attentive before we arrived by extending our reservation time due to the street closure. Once we arrived we were warmly greeted at the door and was able to select a good inside table, it was raining or we would have dined on the rooftop.

Food one bad. Service was mediocre. $77 for two plates and drinks. Had the biscuits and gravy, with plain ground pork in gravy the was oily and seperated. The chicken cutlet for $7 was a burnt deep fried chicken tender. My partners croissant sandwich was flappy and following apart without any flavor. I would never send anyone there for the food. After being seated our server wasn’t to be found as the rooftop was just customers.

Had a great time here last night. Loved the vibe and the music was on point. We sat on the outdoor rooftop area and there were numerous outdoor heaters to keep us warm. We shared Mac & Cheese, Catfish and Red Beans and Rice and Carne Asada Street Tacos. I had the Vodka Strawberry Lemonade and it was good . Great place to hang out with friends and listen to good R&B/Hip Hop music. Just looked at the Breakfast/Brunch menu and it looks good too. Everything we had was delicious and I would definitely come back here again soon.

Went for a birthday brunch, and I enjoyed myself. The mimosas are great and you actually get lit. I ordered the catfish brunch entree and it was good.

One of my favorite spots in Oakland. I love the food, vibe, music and staff. I usually sit on the rooftop even during December because it is so chill. My go to picks are the whole fish, brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, fried catfish, red beans & rice and bread pudding. Make sure to check out the brunch on Saturday or Sunday too.

Good vibe. Quick service. Brunch price points are a little high for the portions. Great experience nonetheless.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time we are very satisfied with our experience. The ambience and the vibe are always very nice and I love the fact that they have a DJ that keeps the music spinning. It definitely is busy in the evening so service may be a little slower than what is expected. I usually have catfish which is pretty good. I decided to try the mac and cheese annnnd let’s just say the presentation is the best thing. It was creamy and hot, temperature wise, but the seasoning was definitely not there. The only seasoning that you could taste was garlic so that definitely needs adjustment (unless they happen to have had a back up chef that night who may not be familiar with how to prepare this dish). The rooftop is also very nice and it’s definitely great that they have heaters because it definitely can be very cool later in the evening and at night. Either way, seating inside on the ground level or on the rooftop level is a win win because you definitely can still hear the music and enjoy the scenery. The prices are very reasonable but for those who are unaware, if you bring your own cake from outside they will charge you a $15 cake cutting fee. All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant because ambience is a key factor along with the food and service. There is plenty of street parking which is free of charge usually after 6 PM.

This place has a really cool vibe. Kind of pricey. I went on a day it was closed for a private event; you were welcome to come in at $15 per person to support local talent so I did. Food was priced good. Nice portions. Didn’t like that private event charged an automatic 18% gratuity and it was only two of us. They also charge a card fee of $1.99. Overall really nice place. Would recommend.

Had an AMAZING first time at Oeste! Sat upstairs on the patio and our server was pleasant and helpful. I didn’t catch her name but she was of black decent with a strong accent.
