We stopped here on the way to Monterey to get some breakfast. The food was yum and served quickly. Portions are big. We shared one egg Benedict and half portion of biscuit and gravy. Atmosphere is really nice. Coffee was also tasty and refillable. Ladies serving us were friendly. I would come back again!

Wow! Looked for breakfast spots in Gilroy and saw OD’s. Glad we decided on them. Sat down and immediately was asked about drinks. Tea and Coffee refilled and topped off 5 times. All of the staff worked all the tables like a team. The owner Mike (I believe) took our order. My wife wanted the french toast combo and I chose Chilaquiles. They had mild , medium and spicy salsa for the dish so he brought me samples so I could choose the heat. (Samples in the picture) . I chose the mild red with medium green on the side. The spicy was phenomenal as well for those who enjoy it fire and over easy eggs. All the salsa is made in house by the owners. Best chilaquiles I’ve ever had. My wife loved the fact that the syrup for the French toast is served warm and mixes with the melted butter. She had bacon and over easy eggs as well. She loved it. This is what a breakfast spot should be, welcoming , great folks with smiles and great food. We’re always working in and going through Gilroy, so this is where we will stop for grub. They really have a great menu with sandwiches served later and weekend brunch selections as well. The pricing is reasonable for this quality of food. Thanks for the great ambiance and experience. We will be back!

Went for Saturday breakfast at 10am and got seated right away. Food was great and service was quick. We got the pork chop platter and the linguica omellette with side of pancake and French toast. We recommend this Gilroy gem and we will be back.

5-Star Review for OD’s Kitchen in Gilroy
I finally made it to OD’s Kitchen in downtown Gilroy, and wow—what a fantastic spot for breakfast! This place lives up to all the hype as one of the best breakfast joints in the area, with huge portions, friendly service, and that cozy local vibe.
I started with the chocolate cream drink (their rich, creamy hot chocolate or chocolate milk variation—whatever it exactly is, it’s indulgent!). It was perfectly sweet without being overpowering, super smooth and velvety, topped just right. If you’re a chocolate lover, this hits the spot and pairs amazingly with breakfast. Not too heavy, but definitely satisfying.
For my main, I went with the famous Rosebud breakfast, and I can see why it’s a favorite for so many people. It’s a hearty, loaded plate with eggs, meats, potatoes, and all the classic fixings done exceptionally well. Everything was cooked perfectly—fluffy eggs, crispy edges where needed, and those fresh country potatoes were addictive. The portions are generous; I couldn’t finish it all and definitely didn’t need lunch afterward!
The staff was quick, welcoming, and the place was buzzing with locals. If you’re in Gilroy and craving a solid, no-fuss breakfast with standout items like the Rosebud and a great chocolate drink, OD’s Kitchen is a must-visit. Highly recommend—I’ll be back soon!

My dad’s absolute favorite breakfast spot! He was a massive fan of the kitchen sink, and we all delighted in sharing it—though we only tackled half! His mornings were a perfect blend of delicious breakfast and strong black coffee. This place will forever be etched in my memory, representing his love for family and those cherished breakfast moments spent together! I wonder if the staff even realize they’re a part of his happy place!
Today, April 1st, 2025, we stopped by on the way to his viewing after he passed!

Place is a great little diner. Stopped for breakfast and food was great as was the service. The three old-timers that came in right after me just after the diner opened just added to the ambiance. I say oldtimers knowing full well I qualify in some circumstances but these guys had 20 years on me and were definitely regulars. I love seeing that as I travel and finding these little gems.

First time at OD’s and had the BEST SERVICE & BREAKFAST. Louis was one of the people helping us (I didn’t catch the name of the lovely woman who served us) and both him and our waitress are kind and hardworking people! Very nostalgic and cozy feelings in OD’s Kitchen. I felt like I was teleported to 2010 in the best way 🙂 keep up the amazing work and I hope this family business stays open for as long as possible. Top 3 new restaurants of 2025 and well-deserved.

Update February 2024: They have been closed for way too long. But, now that they’re back we gave it a try. Everything was fantastic. Bacon was crispy and delicious eggs and Hash browns and toast were great. California Omelet delicious as well. Be sure you ask for some verde salsa, it’s super tasty. To go country fried steak and eggs very awesome. Steak tender and flavorful. They are back indeed. Go give it a try you won’t be disappointed. Service is great considering how busy they are. This was a weekend.
