This is not a sit down restaurant. There are not many tables inside and it’s dark. I bought a bottle of Goya Guava juice and had it ready to drink with this delicious food in the car.
I never heard my husband make so many noises while he was eating and smacking his lips… Wow. I could not finish my shrimp and took home that & the mac, seafood salad, and potato salad home. I’ll finish the sides tonight. Candied yams were to die for…
The fried fish & shrimps were so good hot. The sides were scrumptious and it was like Thanksgiving. Potato salad a little bland so we’ll get the fried hand cut potatoes (he showed us!) and fried okra next time! We don’t usually eat at American cuisine restaurants except for diners for breakfast, but this food is so good that we’ll probably come here twice a month. If this restaurant/carry out was near our home off 39 then the new Cafe Fresco would lose money and everyone would go here instead.

This place save me , i was craving fish and We just love the place , What ever I am going to say ! That would not even be close to how awesome this place is. For my first step in the door the owner greeted me and I told him it’s my first time here he immediately offered a sample of all the sides to try. We love the food and we really enjoyed it. The owner is so nice, and he loves what he does and also loves showing you what is what and just an awesome person. Ofc is not my last time . Highly recommended

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with friendly service and felt very welcomed. It was our first time there so the gentleman working explained the menu to us and let us sample some of the sides. You gotta be confident in your cooking to do that… and he had every right to be. Food was seasoned to perfection. Mac and cheese was done right, greens with cabbage, and green beans were seasoned well. Yams 10/10.
I am so glad we found this spot. We will definitely back.
I will just mention that if you are looking for a quick meal, you may want to plan accordingly. They cook their food to order and that takes time… but definitely worth it.

Went to OD’s for the first time a couple of weeks ago with my family and we were given a warm welcome by OD and his staff. We were offered various desserts and samples of his food such as candy yams, Mac & cheese, collard greens and more prior to ordering our food. While waiting on our food, he gave us the history of his business along with his family’s and was a delight to talk with. I had the catfish (big size for a great pride), fries and candy yams. Everything was phenomenal and we will be sure to come back!

Found this place while in town for a concert and loved it. The fish was all fresh and cooked to order with a cornflour breading, the salmon nuggets have a nice spicy heat to them, the candied yams were beautifully caramelized, and the hush puppies were nice and crispy on the outside. The owner clearly put a lot of time and effort into having fresh, good quality food, and it shows. While there is some indoor seating, it is more of a takeout place. Everything was well packaged to prevent leaking during travel and stayed warm.

If I could just say WOW! That would not even be close to how great this place is. From my first step in the door the owner greeted me, told him I was a first timer and he immediately offered a sample of all the sides! Greens, sweet potato, Mac and cheese, potato salad, seafood salad, green beans!! Every single side was phenomenally prepared, those Greens!! Lord have mercy!!! Then he showed me the different fish, explained they are fresh daily. I got a massive lump crab cake, I don’t think it had any filler, all crab, excellent! Two! Whiting fish fillets, they were huge, for the price I paid I would have been happy with one fillet. The desserts, all home made, so many to choose from, I was going carrot and a local told me to try another and she was spot on, don’t recall the name but it had bananas and pineapple, the frosting! So good, the slice of cake must have weighed a pound, so dense. I’ve eaten around the world and this little place is some of the best food I’ve had anywhere. The best part, the owner, he’s a great human, loves what he does, loves showing you what is what and just a genuine awesome person. We need ore places like this! I’ll probably eat here all 3 days I’m in town.

OD is a most pleasant gentleman offering samples to 1st timers, sharing many delicious sides, then showing all the scrumptious homemade desserts. The hummingbird cake lives up to the reputation of these reviews and is absolutely amazing. Red velvet, coconut & chocolate iced yellow cake were thickly iced and nicely portioned alternates. I had the $12 portion of fresh cut catfish nuggets and was not disappointed. OD’s also makes fresh cut fries and fried okra. I’m sure I’ll stop in again when in that part of town. Just Google map it.

I ordered so many things (and not just all in one visit! I came back the very next day because the food was so good. OD is very passionate about what he does, and I was so very happy to support those that take pride in what they do. Supporting one another goes along way, and because of that, I won’t hesitate to come back to support OD’s Fishhouse. On the first visit I got the crab cake (being a MD resident), this was a good crab cake for $15 dollars. Lots of blue crab meat. I didn’t see any filler, honestly and that’s what I’m used to). The fried salmon was really good (next time we’re going to try and get it to a medium temperature), the catfish nuggets (I tried them on the second day) Mac and cheese, potato salad, sweet potato pie (got these sides and dessert on BOTH days. They were that damn good), fried okra. Ask him about the lovely lemonades they sell also! Whenever anyone gives you a sample and watches you eat it, you KNOW they KNOW! Do yourself a favor and visit this establishment and support! Definitely coming back for the seafood salad and yams, because they were out.
