Patrick O’Donoghue is carrying on the family tradition of his Grandfather’s Pub in Dublin Ireland and have set up shop in Brunswick, ME. Paddy O’Donoghue started his pub in 1934 in Dublin after successfully working with Michael Collins and Eamon de Valera in freeing Ireland from British rule in 1922. Paddy was a Commander in the Irish Republican Army. He and Michael Collins were great friends and freedom fighters. We are proud to keep the family tradition of this great Irish Pub with exceptional live music, Guinness always on tap, top-notch drinks, and wonderful craft beers from Maine. The pub is great. Beautiful set up for live music. The bartender and owners are so kind. I saw the cook flipping the food with his bare hands. I also got sick from the food.

Awesome local bar! We were staying at a hotel nearby and visited twice in 2 days. We WILL be back the next time we are in Maine! Patrick and his regular patrons welcomed us with open arms! Amazing food and service!

Stopped in for a drink. Staff was friendly and drinks were good and reasonably priced. A bit loud for us and lots of smokers. Although they have to go outside to smoke you have to put up with the smell when they come back in. A few loud people made it less enjoyable for us. All depends on your taste, but not great for us.

Came in here right around when they opened and have to say I was very, very impressed. The vibe was far better than the other bars in the past. Maybe because this is a pub so it had much more of a friendlier, eclectic feel. I think it was the owner at the bar helping out the bar tender since she was swamped with people. He came over and asked us if everything was OK and I thought that was very pleasant. So pleasant that our bar hopping just stayed there instead since I knew we wouldn’t get this service at any of the venues on Maine st.
Great beer, great crew, great vibe. I’ll be back next time I’m home!

love a good dive bar. They’re honestly my favorite and I appreciate the fact that they’re not perfect. My experience at O’Donoghue’s last night (7/29) was impressively terrible and the complete disregard for customer satisfaction appears to be the standard.
I’ll keep this brief because this disgrace of a bar isn’t worth my time. I came with two other family members and sat at the bar. The bar wasn’t busy at all and we were deliberately ignored. We sat for 20 minutes while two bartenders acknowledged and served other patrons, but never acknowledged us once.
My advice to anyone considering spending money at this bar, look elsewhere. My advice to this bar, close your doors and call it a wash.

Friends and I went for a quick bite and some drinks. Service was good and food was fresh. The only thing i would change is wait to be sure folks are done eating before clearing the table. I went to the ladies room and came back and my food had been cleared away. I had almost finished but wanted my last few bites!
I will go back again in the future if we are in the area the value was good for the price you pay.
