I live in ely and have not been to odies in years, went there Friday the 6th, with my wife and another couple, ordered our food and when I got my sandwich the 4th bite I found a foreign object in it, this normally dose not bother me , but one of our group brought it to the attention of our waitress, she apologized which is nice but made no attempt to offer to compensate my meal, again I was going to over look this, but later that evening a group of other friends went there at 9 pm and were treated rudely when they ordered some appetizers, put all of this together and here I am. As I stated earlier had not been there in years and now I’ll never go back, sad I can’t go to our town bar and have a good experience. Just my opinion

Wow this place is great. I came here to eat with my son. He really enjoyed the soup! Unfortunately while eating I had an “accident” which spilled down my pant legs and onto the floor. Fortunately a staff member was willing take one for the team and took a bite for me. Thank you odies!

I’m always looking for a review that actually tells you something. Not just, food was good! Polite staff… you know what I mean…. So, here we go.
We were greeted when we walked in the door! Wow! Friendly and very attentive staff. They have a good selection of beer on tap including IPA’s. Nice and cold in a chilled true pint. Bravo! We ordered the “All you can eat shrimp” and Tenderloin. The shrimp is butterflied and nicely breaded. Comes with fries and coleslaw. I try to stay away from fried food, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not greasy at all. The shrimp was perfect. Flavor, texture and presentation. They serve in tin pie plates, which I found as a nice change from the typical plastic baskets with a paper liner beneath. My husband ordered the tenderloin. In his opinion, the best he’s had anywhere (with the exception of my own hand breaded pork loin)… The service was exceptional. Skylar was prompt in seeing that our drinks were filled and the shrimp kept a coming. We left, comfortably full. And not to forget…Karaoke every other Friday with Mike! And he starts up at 7pm. We will definitely go back. Odie’s is easy to find and only about 10-15 minutes from Cedar Rapids.

Cody’s bar is a small town bar that serves fantastic food. The food came out piping hot the french fries awesome overall the food was excellent. The only reason I did not give them five stars is their credit card policy. They charge you a convenience fee for using your credit card. And they notify you of this when you’re ready to pay not on the menu or anywhere else. Other than that I would eat here again.
