I became the odd duck tonight by requesting the tostada be taken off the Hamachi, and my server understood with curiosity and calmness. – Thanks man.
The Leche de Tigre was my favorite culinary sensation tonight because of how its edgy flavor evolves across the palate.
I’m grateful for the entirety of tonight’s visit. The team’s support through my dinner was exceptional.
My wife has two rather complicated allergies–cilantro and high fructose corn syrup–and the staff and kitchen went out of their way to mark up a copy of the menu for her so she could safely explore what options she could eat.
We are from Los Angeles and my son moved to Milwaukee recently. Odd Duck felt like a place we would have discovered back in Southern California. The sophistication of the dishes, the flavor profiles, and the quality ingredients really added up to a stunning meal.
We enjoyed the Smashed potatoes, Lamb, Beet salad, Crispy Oyster mushrooms, and my favorite was the Duck Ravioli. The Chocolate Cheesecake was fantastic with its lovely orange & chocolate combo. Don’t miss Odd Duck when in Milwaukee. ️
Our waitress, Sophie B., was a true delight and made sure I felt comfortable with everything. Even the food runners throughout the meal made sure I knew which dishes were allergen free, and which (when we ordered doubles) was the “safe” one for me.
Sophie B. was attentive, but not intrusive (sometimes hard to do) and had a great sense of humor – we all loved her!
I enjoyed the chicken liver mousse (great sourdough), the fried sunchokes were lovely, the bison cheek was fall apart tender, but the piece de resistance was the INCREDIBLE wild boar belly – possibly the best bite I’ve ever had of pork – truly a showstopper for everyone at the table.
We were seated near the kitchen pass through, and got to see firsthand how dedicated and detailed the staff was, and the dishes were creative, beautifully presented, and delicious.
Definitely agree that you will be needing at least two plates, to make sure you have enough.
If you are looking for a quiet place for conversation, this might not be the best spot, but it felt lively without being too loud.
Will definitely return!!
For dessert, we got the crème brulee (a MUST HAVE) need I say more. And the chocolate ganache cake with meringue cookies, this was good but if you choose only one go for the crème brulee.
The drinks we ordered were also very unique and flavorful. They have an extensive wine list which I enjoy but I felt like I was missing out if I didn’t order a cocktail and I’m glad I did.
Overall, loved this experience and sad I don’t live in the Midwest anymore so my chances of returning are slim but I will recommend to anyone visiting Milwaukee.
