Nestled along the waterfront, The Octopus’ Beer Garden is more than just a restaurant—it’s a dream brought to life by the Halaas family. Originally established in the early 2000s as The Captain’s Landing, Chef Bob, alongside his wife Tonia and dedicated family members, worked tirelessly to transform the space into something extraordinary. After returning in 2017, their vision evolved, and in 2019, The Octopus’ Beer Garden officially opened its doors. Today, it stands as a vibrant gathering place where guests can sit back, relax, and soak in the beauty of the river while enjoying thoughtfully crafted dishes& cocktails

What a perfect location along side the Clinton river right off 94! Can get here by taking the boat or car!
Menu is perfect. Great selection on small plates to satisfy any appetite
Mahi-mahi tacos are my favorite. Also had Spanish shrimp cocktail. That was a fan favorite.

If you’re looking for an intriguing local place to escape for food, fun and drinks, I think I found it! Many tasty menu items that are prepared with care, a service staff that is friendly and impressive, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere with a Beatles theme that is inviting but not overwhelming. A small group or a large party will be made to feel at home at this hideaway on the Clinton River, where you can feel like you are far away from home but you’re not! You can enjoy the views of the river in any weather, and wildlife and nature are a sight to see from your table. Be sure to sample the wide variety of food and drinks on the menu, I’m sure you will find many new favorites like I have. And check out the special themed events online too, for added magic and memories!

This place is in a nice location right near the river. I went at lunchtime, so there wasn’t that much of a crowd at the time. This place has really good food. I am not sure if it’s just what we ordered, but it seems like all the bread was butter just right. The bbq brisket had such good flavor. The fries were crispy and seasoned. I can’t remember what meat I had, but it paired well with the buttered bun(I believe it was steak). The salad was also fresh. Our server at the time didn’t seem too much of a talker. She was just direct with the answer to our questions. I do recommend this place.

Love this hidden gem, wish they were open year round! The food is your yummy deep fried, bad for you, but oh so good! The drinks are great, the service is great, people are friendly and the atmosphere and location are awesome! Great for a group of friends, date night or to just come have drinks by yourself or with a friend! I have a feeling, this is an everyone knows everyone type deal and if I was able to, I’d be there with them! It’s definitely my husband and I’s new date night place when they’re open during the season!

On a late June Sunday afternoon this place is buzzing. Live music, a nice breeze, a tremendous view up & down the river.
With nearly every seat occupied, it’s nice to traveling solo. Nearly always a seat somewhere for one.
As soon as I was seated, Callie checked in on my needs. Food & drinks menus (draft beers are a QR code) and a big ice water on my table about one minute later. The staff is quick, efficient & polite.
The music, when not live, is loud. Conversation-stopping loud. But it was the great Elton John so, not offended. The live music volume was much better. A man & his guitar playing hits from 70s, 80s, 90s.
Their beer list is fairly broad and included three different “beer” styles I’d not tried yet (according to Untappd). The Grape Fizz Ale is exactly what you expect it to be, a very weird, alcoholic version of grape Kool-aid.
Food was decent. Ordered Mahi tacos once I found they weren’t deep-fried. Solid. Quantity felt a bit light since there is nothing on the side. But, the price was good for the amount. $12 for 3 fish tacos is a good price.

Good food and good vibes-
This spot is nestled nicely along a canal, with seating right on the water. They’ve got a decent drink selection and their food… the brisket sliders I ordered must have been the most flavourful brisket I’ve had in a while. It’s a shame there wasn’t more of it. All in all, nice spot to spend a weekend afternoon at!
