My husband and I live in Oaxaca most of the year, and we were craving some authentic food that reminds us of “home.” Ocho Regiones—or, Mi Lindo Oaxaca, as all the signage and menus say?—hit the spot!

We enjoyed the alambres (although we’d never had it with pineapple and ham before) and the tlayuda mixta (minus chorizo). I couldn’t tell what kind of cheese the tlayuda had, but it didn’t seem like Oaxaca cheese (quesillo), and I would’ve liked to see a little more of it. Still, the flavor and textures were all there, and we liked the house-made salsas provided to top our dinner with!

The tortillas—both for the tlayuda and the alambres—were clearly hand-made, but the ones for the alambres were an unfamiliar texture that seemed like the stretchy texture of flour tortillas, though they were made with corn. Still, they worked great for the alambres.

Great variety of options that we’ll be back to enjoy again! Reasonable pricing. They do upcharge for additional tortillas ($3 for 2) and any extras.

At 4 p.m. on a Sunday, the place was nearly full, and we were the only gringos in sight. A good sign ☺️

This place is a real gem , its really hard to find really good Mexican food. We have gone twice and have tried different plates and well, we give it a 5 out of 5 for the flavor and the dishes they serve. It is a little warm not to bad where you cant stay there its just around 76° inside. The aguas frescas are all good, homemade not poweder like other places. I recommend the agua de Jamaica. Just FYI this place does not offer chips and sauce just to let you know. Which is fine because the food is so good you finish it all up and the chips would only take the taste from the food. We ordered the mole enchiladas, oh its so , we had it with the chicken, the chicken is grilled just right. En tomatadas are also awesome, I recommend you get the beef or steak yum . The Burrito I forgot what the burrito was called but it had everything, steak, beans, lettuce, cheese and fresh tortilla. Last plate we had was eggs and chorizo it was also great came with 3 homemade corn tortillas. All the plates a 5 out of 5. They have a green sauce it was 5 out of 5 flavor taste and spicy. The darker sauce I didn’t care for its a 3 out of 5. All and all it’s a must. Stop on by staff is friendly and food is great.

I brought my mom here for breakfast, and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. I ordered a simple egg taco that was listed on the menu for $2.50, but when the bill came they charged me $5 just for that one taco. On top of that, my mom’s plate did not look appetizing at all — it honestly looked like a mess on the plate. Definitely not worth the money, and I will not be coming back.

Waitress Patricia was super kind and helpful. First time here, and we truly enjoyed our meal. Kids loved the rice and chicken quesadilla.

The tlayuda with cheese and grasshopper was alright. I noticed that the grasshopper itself has no flavor. However, salsas were provided to enhance the flavor of the tlayuda. I can’t believe I found hair in the other half of the tlayuda which was not great.

Great place to have real Oaxaca food. Great taste, hand made tortillas and tlayudas. Aguas frescas fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

The food looked more appealing than what it was. My main complaint is the lack of flavor, at least the tamales were fine. I will give them that…
I wouldn’t return to this particular restaurant though.

Fix y’alls toilet, it stinks so bad man. The only reason I give this place a 3 is because I’m from Oaxaca and can see the potential, just do better.
