I ordered curbside to go from this restaurant but they were too understaffed to have someone bring it to my car but the text message failed to mention that. The appetizer dip was still cold in the middle when I got home. They forgot my two root beers and then said it may take up to ten days to receive my refund. I can understand being understaffed these days but they could have put that in the text message that I needed to come inside to get my order. They could have also had a sign that said the to go orders were in this location. Really over all I found the service to be lacking. I waited for 20 minutes to get what was advertised as being delivered to my car. If you are understaffed than state that so that customers know what to expect. I paid for what I thought was curbside service but that is not what I received. Disappointed.

Dined at O’Charley’s today (9/24/2025) for lunch in the bar area. I didn’t catch the bartender’s name, but she was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and kind. My two drinks were perfect, and I ordered the Catfish with fries. The food was good, though the more petite catfish strips reminded me of their old weekday all-you-can-eat catfish. I had hoped for the two whole fillets pictured on the website menu, but I believe that’s a dinner option.
Regardless, the experience was excellent. I also ordered the new Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a cheesecake to go, which I’m looking forward to enjoying for dinner. It’s been several months since my last visit, and I won’t wait that long again. O’Charley’s reminded me why it’s so popular: friendly service and freshly cooked, satisfying food. v/r, Dr. Ken King

This location should probably just shut down. We stood at the host stand for 15 minutes before anyone even showed up to seat us. There was another guy who’d been waiting 20 minutes just to get a takeout order fixed because the front was totally abandoned. The restaurant wasn’t even busy-our waitress only had two other tables-but the service was still non-existent. We never got drink refills, and we were told they ‘might’ be able to get us rolls if the oven cleared up, but they did the up bringing them. Worst of all, my wife’s salad sat on the table for 10 minutes before we could even get silverware to eat it. There were plenty of staff around, just zero urgency or management. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this location.

Really good food and attentive staff! I got the Louisiana style steak medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked with a tasty crust. The side salad was notably good as well, I like whatever Caesar dressing they have. Rolls were fresh tasty. I sat at the bar and the bartender was really friendly and attentive. Honestly can’t say anything bad!

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures… I ordered the 12oz Ribeye steak(medium well)with the mashed sweet potatoes and broccoli. I had to send the first steak back because it came out well done and I wasn’t about to be chewing for hours so I sent it back. When it finally came back(my party had finished eating) it was medium(medium rare) so I kept it(I’ve eaten medium steaks before). The sides were good and thats the best thing I had to say about my meal. If I end up there again I’ll never order a steak(I’ll stay safe n get a burger i guess). That was a very bad steak experience.

The five for service is for the Hero of the O’Charley’s in Chester Va. Outside of the restaurant the “Monk group” was walking down the main highway US 301 N in Chester, VA. and our waitress ( and I believe the restaurant manager) left the restaurant and my wife and I to go watch the Monk walk. Fortunately for us a very nice young lady who was working in the kitchen, knew our food would get cold without our waitress being available, brought us our food (while it was hot) and got us some refills on our tea, etc…
I made sure when we left to make sure she got part of the tip because she was the only one who saved our meal. I hope the manager will read this because if I was him I would promote the young lady from the back to Top Waitress and terminate our so called ” waitress” and then turn in his resignation and find a job where customer service comes first. Sorry to sound so ugly but this is THE TRUTH! I am 67 and “old school” so maybe I just don’t get it anymore.

The atmosphere was abysmal. The restrooms would feel more at home in a rundown gas station, smelled strongly of urine and very evidently not cleaned more than monthly.
And as for the worst crime, the food.
That was possibly the saddest steak I’ve had in the past decade. Flavor was mostly no existent, appearance was mildly off putting. I got it medium rare, so not an issue of being overcooked. Just a bad steak, they didn’t even try to hide it with seasoning, which it severely lacked.
The rice pilaf had to be uncle Ben’s or something to that effect. My companion got the Cajun pasta, even more of a deplorable dish.
French fries were good.
TLDR:
Don’t get anything from here unless it’s fried.

Although this O’Charley’s was hopping the service was excellent. Our server Maddie kept us and drinks and food. I got a blackened salmon Caesar salad which was cooked well but it didn’t seem to have any flavor from the seasoning. This Caesar salad dressing was not as creamy as I thought it should be. It was kind of vinegary and had a bite to it. My wife also had the blackened salmon with broccoli and a baked potato and she too said this salmon seasoning was vague and undefined. You can tell this restaurant needs to be remodeled. Everything inside of it is old and tired looking. But the staff keep you coming back because of their friendliness.

My first time at an O’Charley’s restaurant. I enjoyed the decor and the people there were very nice. My server was very helpful. I don’t remember the name of my dish but it was some sort of grilled salmon. I remember the asparagus was delicious. And my sweet tea was just right. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
