I was craving Thai food and this place came up as the closest option. The parking lot was packed, and I grabbed the last spot, which made me think it would be super busy inside. Surprisingly, only one couple with a child was dining when I walked in. The waiter greeted me right away and told me I could sit anywhere. Nice!
I ordered Pad See Ew with chicken and a Thai iced tea. The portion was generous and came out quickly. Flavor-wise, it was average. Good enough, but a little heavy on the seasoning for my taste. The Thai iced tea, however, tasted off. I can’t put my finger on it how it why though. I asked for it in a Togo cup so that I could take it with me when I left. The waiter said sure, but brought me a regular cup.
Overall, it’s a decent spot if you’re nearby and want Thai food fast, but I wouldn’t call it a go to destination.

I’ve been here twice, my mother has been here several times. We went with my dad, his 1st time here. We enjoyed our time. It was nice & quiet. I love the food & service, very pleasant place!

Ocha Thai Restaurant is one of my favorite spots in Bakersfield, we are regulars here!
The food is always consistent, fresh, and full of flavor every time we visit. Santi provides such friendly, attentive service and really makes you feel welcome, and the owner is an absolute sweetheart. Highly recommend!

I’m concerned this is one of the top rated Asian cuisine restaurants in Bakersfield…. I only came here because it had good reviews. If you guys think this is great, we need to have a heart to heart.
Let’s start with the potstickers. I asked the waiter if I should get steamed or fried; he recommended fried. Well, let’s just say I’ve had better potstickers from the grocery store’s frozen section than this place… They were incredibly small and flavorless. If this is what is recommended, the steamed version must be inedible.
Thankfully the Chicken Pad Thai actually had some flavor, but nothing to recommend to anymore. There is certainly better out there… This alone is definitely not a reason to go back.
To make matters worse, it was pretty expensive… $31 for a plate and appetizer? No, just no. My favorite place at home for a huge plate and the same appetizer is $22, and my city is more expensive to live in. Heck, even amazing hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurants in Los Angeles (you know, one of the most expensive places to live) is cheaper than this place.
And if this matters to anyone, the restaurant and restrooms are pretty beat up and dingy. It’s not a comfortable or welcoming environment.
If you’re passing through like I was, don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Keep driving.

The food was reallly good and the customer service was great. I loved the owner he cracked jokes and made my sisters and I feel very comfortable. I had got the shrimp Pho, it was the best pho I’ve had and the chili oil was sooo spicy I loved it. The Wontons were good as well they were chicken. Overall, the price was very cheap and affordable , a 10/10 …Will be back !!

We stopped for lunch on our way to Big Bear. While eating, my son discovered a long white hair in his food. We informed staff but the meal was not replaced and no solution was offered beyond an apology. Due to obvious hygiene concerns, I could not continue eating. When paying, I informed the cashier but no adjustment was made. I later noticed an 18.9% gratuity had been automatically added. Overall, the response to the issue was disappointing. I recommend checking your food and bill carefully.

The food was absolutely delicious! I especially loved the pho soup, it was so flavorful and comforting. We also tried the Pad Thai noodles and Kung Pao chicken, and both were just as amazing. The service was excellent too, the young man who served us was very attentive and provided great service. Overall, everything exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Not only does Ocha have delicious food, but their prices are incredible for the quality and portions.
I had the pad Thai, yellow curry, and chicken egg rolls, and it was all delectable.
