Ocean Sushi and Ramen is without a doubt one of the best sushi spots I’ve visited. The miso soup is amazing, and every dish we tried was excellent. The toro (fatty tuna) is top quality, and they even offer authentic fresh wasabi, which is rare to find.
It’s usually full, but that just proves how good it is. I highly recommend it.

This was our first experience. Our son turned 17 tonight and this was birthday dinner pick. The sushi was amazing. Tasted fantastic. The presentation was wonderful. Our server was busy, but on point. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with an air of class. Wine list, cocktails and bar. The dinning room is cozy (borderline crowded) as it’s a small venue. They appear to adding an outdoor seating area. I would recommend trying them if you like sushi, sashimi or even ramen.

My first time here. Really enjoyable sushi lunch. Miso soup was hot and spot on. Sushi deluxe lunch was nice. Great easy lunch. Nice addition to Friendswood. Decor is great. Did some box breathing while I waited for my table.

Amazing food and gorgeous interior design. The service and management is attentive and they do a good job of keeping customers happy.

The food was high quality, beautifully presented, priced fairly and they have so much variety I’d come back to explore the menu.

I highly recommend ocean to all locals and visitors!

Food was absolutely delicious and fresh! I had the sashimi lunch and the Air first one roll and both were fantastic. I normally go to the other location. This location is much bigger and a bit more fancy perfect for Date night.

Ocean Sushi and Ramen This place leans more toward trendy vibes than exceptional service. The sushi itself was fresh and tasted great, so the food quality is not an issue. However, the overall experience left much to be desired.

The biggest drawbacks were the lack of staff training and operational inefficiency. The servers were not knowledgeable about the menu, and we had to explain the sushi plates they offered, which is frustrating as a customer. On top of that, the hostess struggled to manage wait times and tables, causing long delays and flustered interactions.

The menu is overwhelming and feels overcomplicated. A streamlined focus on core items could improve the experience. Adding to the confusion, we were handed an old menu without any heads-up, leading to multiple drink orders being unavailable.

While this might be one of the few trendy spots in Friendswood with decent food, the service and management issues make it feel overrated. It’s a “one and done” for me.

I visited this place on a weekday around 2 PM and was seated immediately since there was no wait.

The atmosphere had a modern Japanese aesthetic, with thoughtful details like hooks under the bar seating and wall outlets for convenience.

Service was great—my waiter was patient and attentive, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

I ordered a bento box from the lunch menu, choosing teriyaki steak and tempura shrimp. The set included a choice of soup (miso or hot & sour) and rice (fried or white). The miso soup was standard, and the California roll was simple but decent. The spring roll, which was more like an egg roll, was covered in sweet and sour sauce—I would have preferred it on the side.

The presentation was nice, with the rice molded into a mountain shape, though I think it would have been better if it were a bit softer. The highlights of my meal were the teriyaki steak and shrimp tempura—both were exceptionally delicious! The steak sauce was well-balanced, not overpowering, and the tempura was perfectly crispy and light.

Overall, it was a good experience, and I would actually come back to try more from their menu.

In my line of work being a customer service representative in a lot of different environment. One thing that I pride myself on, and I don’t care how busy I was. I always acknowledge my customers. I came into this place, and it took them over 2 minutes to acknowledge me. Then, there was 2 gentlemen that walked and they were acknowledged almost instantly. That made me think, maybe it was because of the color of my skin. I don’t want to think that way in 2026. But like I said customer service should always be the most important thing. And no establishment should be that busy that they do not acknowledge a customer walking in. They will never ever get my business. And I will be telling people that I know, make sure you go somewhere else, not there.
