Downside is the price and the waiting on food. Upside is a lot of options to choose from. We went with a group of three and tried to alternate/share so we could try several menu items. You are limited to two items ordered at a time per person, so we learned quickly that some items would be consumed extremely quickly (single oyster or two mussels) while others would be a little more substantial. Our first couple rounds resulted in a quick check/reorder but later the longest round only taking about 15 minutes from order to delivery. Not bad timeframe for preparing some of the dishes but would not want to visit during busier hours.

This place is pretty good. We had no wait for a table and place was not really crowded. All the employees were very nice from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. They have a variety of choices on the menu and I wanted to try every single one, but knew my eyes were bigger than my stomach. After some convincing, from the waitress, my husband and I decided to go with all you can eat price since that included the whole menu. We realized a couple of rolls in we had made a mistake and should have ordered each plate individually since now we had leftovers and we were now going to have to pay full price for what was left in addition to the all you can eat price. Fortunately, for us, they changed our ticket to single dishes and didn’t charge us the all you can eat price. Which we were thankful for. Service seemed a bit slow since they were not busy but it wasn’t horrible. I’d like to visit again and have learned to just order one dish at a time.

10/10 would absolutely go again!! This place was amazing from our first step inside the building!! Beautiful aquarium, really cool Japanese style lanterns, and a cute little robot that gels deliver food to tables. Our server was great; very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Food was delicious and fresh to order!! You can’t beat the prices either. We did the all you can eat and got to try several things on the menu. This might just be our new favorite spot in great falls. Thank you for coming to our town!!

This was our first time at Ocean Star. We had to wait almost 50 minutes to get seated because they were so busy. They do not do reservations at this time, so be prepared to wait. With that said, it was well worth the wait. We had the “All you can eat” meal which consists of everything on the menu. Each person can order two things at a time, and food comes out very quickly. When we were there, they were very, very busy so we had to wait for the waitress to come back around, but once she came, the food arrived quickly. Employees were very helpful and friendly, and the place was very well kept. They even had a robot server named Roberta. Highly recommend.

The sushi here is so so so good. I really love the sushi and a few select other items here! For the price too what you pay for the “endless or all you can eat” is so worth it. Sometimes it’s really busy and I feel like people get ignored often but eventually the service comes. Just to be expected when it’s busy. Great place to come when you’re hungry!!! Same sushi menu as Hokkaido which I loved but they offer all you can eat! Which we did. The all you can eat option is clutch when with friends. I wish the apps were larger portions and they offered half rolls with the all you can eat because then you could try more rolls before getting full! Will absolutely be back!!!

(Edited: see below) In an economy like we have today, with even a dozen eggs costing an arm and a leg, this place is insane. $30 gets you all you can eat from anything off of either menu. The restaurant is Japanese inspired seafood for the majority of it. It is not a buffet. You order each round off of the menu and then they promptly bring out something after they make it. For Great Falls the quality of seafood was top tier. And I say this as a guy who grew up in Seattle living primarily on seafood. There was a spectacular variety, great quality of food, but by and large the selling point is the economics of this place. I swear I had to have eaten about $130 worth of food anywhere else and my kid ate at least $150 worth of food. Plate after plate came as we ate steady for over 2 hours straight. And it’s not filler food either, not big bowls of rice or bread or anything like that it’s protein, it’s entrees. It’s quality food for absolutely the most incredible price. I pray these guys don’t go out of business because this is the new best restaurant in town.

I went two days ago for my mother’s birthday with my whole family. There must be something wrong with their refrigeration, or they are not doing proper stock rotation. Either way six out of eight of us have food poisoning, and we will never go there again. I thought about messaging the manager but when I gave a positive review they earned it and now they have earned the negative review and I really doubt that the manager will do anything to fix it. Unfortunately it’s a byproduct of their business model itself. The only way that they can make a profit off of serving that much food is to hold stuff well past its expiration date, or to leave things out for the day put them back and then put them out the next day and so forth. The only two people who didn’t get sick were the people who didn’t eat seafood. Everything tasted fishy, everything was old, everything must not have been refrigerated or had been frozen and refrozen. But now that it’s two days later and we all still have diarrhea and nausea and cramps I have come to the conclusion that I will never return to this place again. And I advise that if you go here you have good medical insurance. I’m lowering it from five stars to two because it was seriously disgusting. Almost a completely different restaurant and certainly a different level of product from when they first opened to them now. You would probably not get as sick from dumpster diving to be honest. I mean for real we are all sick as hell.

This place is AMAZING!!!! I went there for my birthday reservation. The food and service was more like 10 stars but we can’t rate the stars that high. The sushi is VERY FRESH. Our server Alicia was AWESOME even for it being so busy on a Saturday night. I would request her over and over again. Very friendly and patient with us not completely knowing what to order. Looking forward to over eating there again. LOL. They even sent a robot to our table singing Happy Birthday with a dish if delicious strawberry ice cream.
