Soup (wonton & egg drop) and egg rolls were great. I’d order them again, if I had a craving. The crab rangoon was overly salty.

General Chicken was decent. Not what I expected, but taste and quality was good.

Honestly, for the price it seems beyond fair. The two of us could have shared a dinner. There was a lot of food left over probably because of the sides we had. We usually pay almost double at our regular place and feel like it’s expensive/not a good value. Ocean Star is a steal, compared to some other places nearby.

I was kinda pleasantly surprised. I mean it’s American Chinese food in Hartland, but I’d actually take out from here again. That’s more than I can say about 90% of the restaurants in this town.

Oh yeah, and the guy who was behind the counter was very friendly.

I placed a takeout order and was told it would be ready in 20 to 22 minutes. My husband arrived at the 20 minute mark and ended up waiting 40 minutes for the food. If it was not ready when he got there, that would have been fine, but when we received the order it was incorrect and the quality was unacceptable.

When my husband got home and I reviewed the order, they gave me two orange chicken instead of one orange chicken and one General Tso’s chicken. The food did not taste good at all. The lo mein was extremely soggy, and the overall quality of the food for the amount of money I paid was not good.

The only reason I ordered from there was because I have the flu and wanted something warm and nutritious. I have had their food in the past and it has been great, but this time it was absolutely terrible. I paid $46.43 for this order and the quality did not match the price. They need to do better for their customers, especially when charging what they charge.

I don’t usually write reviews, but after a few visits, I had to say something. The food here is always great! The Almond Chicken is crispy, the Beef and Broccoli is tasty, and the Wonton Soup is super flavorful. The Egg Rolls are fresh and crunchy—just right.

The service is fast and friendly, the portions are big, and the prices are cheap. Plus, it’s the only place around that has good Chinese food. If you’re in Hartland and craving some, this is the spot!

Terrible service and food! First they barely speak english and when you order on the phone they put you on hold (10-20. min. until you eventually hang up) to tend to people coming in the restaurant to pick-up their order and so by then they’ve already forgotten someone was waiting forever on the phone. The quality of meat is very questionable because it’s not fresh and most certainly frozen. You chew the chicken and the beef and you’re wondering what on earth is it that you’re chewing because it doesn’t taste like real beef and real chicken. Lastly, hands down the most terrible taste of sweet and sour sauce there is. We tried this place twice in a week and we won’t be coming back. Save your time, money and most importantly your gut. God bless the Chinese man and woman running this place. It’s constant chaos in the background and they work so hard. Bless their hearts for trying their best but they need one employee an American woman to answer the phone and be able to communicate properly in taking orders. As of the quality of food it’s a different story.

This is the 1st time trying this place & I will never go back. It was the closest place to us. Next time I’ll drive to Howell.
Crab Rangoon was salty & the shell was hard to chew. It seems it was made once & reheated or re fried.
Fried rice was so bland.
Almond chicken gravy had a taste like it came out of a bag.
We spent $30 and was not worth it.

Get the steamed dumplings! They are hand made and excellent! The pad thai and lo main were decent. We liked the General’s chicken, it has a red sauce that is as closer to a sweet and sour (asked for no spicy).

They are one of the only places you can get Thai and Chinese in one stop, so that adds to the convenience when ordering for a group.

They were able to accommodate our group’s catering request for about 150 people. Food was amazing, especially the homemade dumplings, and everyone I talked to was raving about the food!

Everything is always hot, fresh and delicious. Best pan fried dumplings around by a very wide margin. You HAVE to try them
