The chai ran out soon after I arrived and before I had the chance to get any. I didn’t say anything at first, figuring they’d replace it soon. When I went to get a second plate 12 minutes later, still no chai, but I heard someone else say something to one of the staff, and he said it was coming. I finished my second plate and got dessert, and when someone came to take my plates away, I could hear other tables complaining about the lack of chai, so I again asked about the chai and was told it was coming “soon”. 40 minutes after I got my first plate (so at least 40 minutes after it ran out), and roughly 25 minutes after the first person asked, we finally got more chai. But they had run out of teacups (I got the last one), so others had to put their chai in the small dessert bowls and were complaining that it was too hot to hold. After all that, at least it was good chai, very gingery. I also think they ran out of kheer; there was a sign for it, but just a full single-serve bowl of kheer left on the counter with no serving utensil; I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be the last bit of it or if it was someone’s bowl that they’d served themselves and just left at the bar.
Besides just the chai situation, the service in general was not very attentive. The host stand would go unattended for long periods of time, so some customers would seat themselves. It took a while for anyone to bring me water after I was seated, and it was never refilled. No one cleared my plates until after I’d finished three rounds. The host also just wasn’t very friendly or pleasant. He mumbled and never smiled.
I don’t know if I’d come back… For comparison, the other Indian lunch buffet I go to in town is Taste of India, and I think the food here was better and closer to “authentic”, but Taste of India is just run better and the people there always seem to be happy to have you.
The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming – you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The restaurant itself is very clean, with a great ambience and relaxed vibe that makes it perfect.
They also have a really nice selection of drinks that pairs well with the food, which just adds to the overall experience. Can’t wait to try the buffet on weekends.
This has easily become one of my favorite Indian spots in the area. Highly recommend!
The service really stood out—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff was happy to explain menu items and made great recommendations. The atmosphere was clean, calm, and perfect for both a casual meal or a relaxed dinner out.
If you’re craving delicious Indian food in Bloomington, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
And they do Dj night to
The service truly set this place apart. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome without ever being overbearing. Our drinks were always full, and recommendations were spot-on.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special night out. You can tell this restaurant takes pride in everything they do.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing food, great service, and a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Can’t wait for my next visit!
We ordered Gobi manchurian, gol gappe, chhole bhature, chicken biriyani and lamb seekh kebab. All excellent dishes, coming from someone who just returned from India few days ago. Keep up the good work! Prices can be lower but the portion of food is also good in comparison. The servers were kind and offered me onions and green chillies to go with chhole bhature. Thanks for all your efforts and hard work!
Update: Tried the shahi paneer and goat curry and those were great too!
Picked up some chicken biryani, and paneer tikka masala, and garlic naan from here! Loved the paneer tikka masala and garlic naan and the biryani was pretty good too!
