Reviews
The menu price does not reflect the real price. They are adding an extra dollar on to your meals. The menu says $12.95 but when they ring you up, the price is $13.99.
They also have a sign up, saying no refunds. All sales are final. If you have already paid and catch a mistake, they will not give you a refund. The owners are Asian and do not speak to you.
The bathroom also smells like sewage. Even though it looks clean, it smells really bad after someone just cleaned it.
Ocean Seafood and Chicken is legit. First off, the portions are massive. You definitely get your money’s worth. The food is delicious and if you’re looking for something like JJ’s Fish and Chicken on this side of town, this is the closest you’re gonna get.
To keep it all the way real: the chicken isn’t exactly the same as JJ’s, but it’s a decent close competitor and still hits the spot.
However, the fish quality is on another level. I honestly think the Perch here is 10x better than JJ’s. Fresh, perfectly fried, and delicious. Definitely my new go-to in town.
I was given the opportunity to review the menu and ask questions on the items. I placed an order and it took approximately 25 minutes for the order to be completed once I paid. If you are not eating, you do have the option to change the music on the karaoke machine. This is for dining or carry out.
I requested no salt on any of the plates. The food is very tasty. The tenders could use additional time in the fryer as they were somewhat not done. The wings were very good. The onion rings. I really didn’t taste any onions.
I truly give would give the restaurant a four star, but it’s giving five star vibes for a new place. I’ll try it again and maybe some other items all in all really good and affordable for the pictures listed. My total was about $28.
Definitely would give them another visit
I went in to pick up food that I had already called in and paid for. While there, I decided to add three additional wings. The cashier was polite and informed the cook.
The cook was sitting in a chair in the back near the food prep area. He stood up, grabbed a paper towel, and blew his nose — then did NOT wash his hands. Immediately after that, he went to the freezer, grabbed the wings with his bare hands, no gloves, and put them straight into the oil.
I was completely disgusted. Another customer in the restaurant was also disturbed and walked out.
I asked for a refund for the food I had already paid for and explained what I witnessed to the manager. She threw the food away and apologized, saying she would speak to him — but the damage was already done. I felt sick to my stomach.
On top of that, the restaurant was freezing cold, like the heat wasn’t even on. The cashier was bundled up in a heavy coat trying to stay warm, which I found very strange and uncomfortable.
Due to the lack of basic food safety and sanitation, I will never return to this restaurant.
I came in about 30 minutes before closing. As it was my first time, I had a couple of questions about the menu items. The cashier, a young man, responded with a dismissive and attitude-filled, “The menu is behind me.” Well, yes, I knew that, but a first time customer asking a simple question does not deserve such a rude, “well duh” response.
The poor attitude continued. I ordered three pieces of fish and three pieces of chicken. When I asked for hot sauce, he tossed two small packets into the bag and curtly stated, “It’s in the bag.” Two packets for six pieces of food is insufficient. When I requested a single additional pack, he visibly scoffed and handed me the third packet with clear disdain.
I came into the restaurant in a very positive mood, excited to try a new spot, and I left completely disappointed and frustrated. While your kitchen staff deserves praise for the food, the cashier’s behavior and poor customer service turned a potential four-star experience into a one-star review.
I urge the management to address this, as one employee’s attitude is actively driving away new business. I will not be returning.
and blowing her nose in the front lobby. I sat in my car in front the restaurant waiting for my food watching her and she never went to the restroom to wash her hands at all. I understand that people are going to be sick but at least go into the restroom and you sanitizer on your hands.
