TL:DR: Amazing restaurant, try the made to order all you can eat, it’s the cheeper option and you’ll get to try some amazing new things!
We have always been a fan of ocean samurai in Blacksburg. They opened a new location here in Christiansburg awhile back and we loved that too! Recently they decided to differentiate the two restaurants by having a all you can eat made to order buffet! This was a bit strange at first but since we gave it a chance we love it! You get a menu with everything they have always had on it, you can pick any four items at a time from the menu and they make it fresh, then once you are done with those four items you can order another four, you can continue this until you are satisfied or one hundred minutes have passed. Thanks to this new option my family has tried so many delicious dishes we never would have tried otherwise, and the best part is it is cheeper than ordering the items individually! Perviously my five member family would order an appetizer and five meal items and we would expect to pay around 40 dollars a person, now with the all you can eat option we only pay around 30 each! So not only do we get to try new delicious dishes that we would never have ordered before but it actually saves us money! Wonderful restaurant, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere, and wonderful service! Easily one of my favorite places to take my family in the Christiansburg area!

This place is it!! We went on Mother’s Day and returned a few days later. Service the first time was just a tad bit “inexperienced”, for lack of a better term. However, the owner or Manager was running the floor and immediately rectified the issue. He even suggested some of the most fresh, delicious sashimi we have ever had (we actually ordered it the second visit, tip for the restaurant: The first time it was covered in black row caviar style, this smoked white tuna was absolutely amazing and each little bite of this row burst with flavors of the ocean mixed with the smoked tuna. It was perfect. However, the second time we ordered there was no row on top. So please keep that it made the dish!!!). The drinks were phenomenal the second time with a great selection and our waiter this time actually seemed to know what he was doing. Given the electronic payment and ordering at the table with tablets, takes away a bit from the atmospheric experience, but the food is to die for!! Everything we had from the hibachi fillet (which was cooked a perfect mid-rare and melted in your mouth), to all the sashimi we ordered (we actually ordered three of the white smoked tuna dishes on our first visit. It was so good). Not only was this some of the best sashimi that we have had in Christiansburg Blacksburg, but some of the best sashimi and dining we have experienced in Virginia. On our first visit, the owner really made it an experience for us that we won’t forget. His knowledge of the menu and service made for one of the best Mother’s Day’s dinners we have ever had and my partner was absolutely over the moon we left with full bellies and full hearts. Thanks to this amazing attention to detail. Thank you so much for what a wonderful experience we’ve had and we certainly will be back time and time again.

Don’t let the outside of this restaurant fool you!, because what’s inside is absolutely top tier. Ocean Samurai is spotless, beautifully clean, and incredibly aesthetic the moment you walk in. The attention to detail in the space alone sets the tone for the experience.
When you place an order, the food comes out impressively quick, yet still maintains exceptional quality and freshness…something that’s hard to find. Nothing feels rushed or thrown together. It’s clear the kitchen knows exactly what they’re doing.
The food is hands-down some of the highest-quality Asian cuisine you’ll find in the surrounding area. Everything tastes fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully crafted, clearly made with pride and consistency.
This was a takeout order, and we brought sushi home. What truly impressed us is that even the next day, the sushi was still incredibly fresh, honestly fresher than most sushi places in the area even on day one.
The staff are extremely polite, welcoming, and professional, which makes the entire experience even better. A special shoutout to the owner, Tim, he is absolutely amazing. You can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of the food, the environment, and his customers.
In my opinion, Ocean Samurai stands out as the most high-quality Asian restaurant in the area. If you’re on the fence, don’t be!! This place is a must-try!!!!.

You have to try this place! Do not let the outside fool you. Inside it provides a terrific and serene atmosphere. You have to check the beautiful tree in the back. They offer lots of gluten-free options, and are knowledgeable about how to make changes to accommodate dietary needs. It is very kid friendly. Even if your kids don’t like sushi, there are so many options they will not be disappointed. You must go to this gem in the NRV.

One of the nicest dining atmospheres in Christiansburg! It’s been completely re-done inside from when it was a Mexican restaurant. Reasonable wait time, gorgeous interior and lighting, very clean, good food, we left very happy! If you haven’t been here yet, go for date night

I’ve visited this location 3 times since they’ve switched to All You Can Eat style, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoy it. For a place as small as this, having an all you can eat Asian restaurant run smooth and efficient, while also serving fresh food is great.
What I liked the most are the servers. Because the all you can eat is a new service they were offering, servers have always been super patient in helping people make decisions and understand how it works. Some of my favorite items on the menu are the Shrimp Shumai, yakisoba, and teriyaki chicken. I typically go with the Premium version of the menu.
Many people may say the price is a bit high, which is understandable. But what you are receiving is fresh food, including cuts of fish steak, chicken, etc. I think in visiting the location it would help put into perspective what you are getting. This differs from a buffet in that items are made to order, meaning it’s fresh!
I enjoy this addition to the area and hope everyone would consider supporting it!

Ari the server was awesome!!! Such a sweet person and he made our dining experience wonderful.
We enjoyed the sushi, it is extremely fresh. The smoked salmon was delicious; in the future, I would love if they add a little sesame oil on top to elevate the flavor.
The only complaint is that we thought the aged tofu was way too large of a portion and couldn’t finish it. (Beware before ordering aged tofu lol)

Absolutely awesome! I’ve been for lunch and dinner. Both are a hit! Surprisingly affordable for hibachi! The filet is so tender you can cut it with a fork!
