From the very first minute, it was clear – yes, this is the same Ocean Prime we love. Our server, Stephen, was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcome.
As always, I ordered my favorite cocktail with bubbles and berries – it’s beautifully presented, light, and delicious. The crab cake was simply amazing: tender, juicy, and rich in flavor. And, of course, my favorite truffle eggs – I always order them, and here they were just as perfect.
My husband had the steak, and he absolutely loved it – perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. And for dessert, our favorite butter cake: warm, tender, and just as delicious as we get in Michigan. It was that familiar taste that evokes warm memories.
The romantic setting, live music, soft lighting—it all came together to make for a perfect evening. Ocean Prime never let us down, as always. It’s now our favorite spot in Orlando—and we’ll definitely be coming back more often.
We were sat at a beautiful table, everyone greeting along the way with “happy birthday”. We were greeted by Sam who was very friendly and brought us our waters. Our server Stephen then came over and what a nice, genuine human! He greeted us (same name and had just celebrated his 40th), went through drinks and we received those first. We had the Black Orchid martini (pictured below), great balance and the ice sphere with the edible flowers was a pretty touch.
We then had appetizers. I had the house salad and my fiance had a crabcake. Both were really good, plenty of crab and the mustard dressing was delicious. We also got the bread basket…WOW!!! We learned this is made to order by a special section of the kitchen. Let me tell you, beyond worth it! Dinner rolls, pretzel bread and savory cracker bread. Unlike any other!
Stephen was really great about spacing our food so we did not feel like it was coming in waves before we were ready.
My fiancé got the grouper for his meal. Nice sized piece of fish, chili seasoning on top, broth with lobster and gnocchi had great flavor. I had a 14oz New York Strip. Cooked to perfection, great crust, perfectly medium. We shared the smoked gouda tator tots and bacon creamed spinach. The best creamed spinach I have ever had! Those tots were really good. Fresh made with that gouda taste.
We finished with the peanut butter pie. Again, the best I have had. Very smooth and light with a cookie crust bottom. We added a scoop of strawberry ice cream (they exclusively use Kelly’s ice cream).
Overall, we will definitely be back. The food was incredible, the service was phenomenal (shout out to Stephen and Sam) and atmosphere was perfect.
Ocean Prime provided us with one of the most memorable and romantic dining experiences we’ve had in recent memory. From the moment we were seated, the evening was defined by exceptional food, intimate ambiance, and truly attentive service.
The culinary experience was nothing short of amazing. Every dish we sampled was executed flawlessly, but what truly elevated our dinner was the option to dine a la carte family style. This approach allowed my husband and me to share and sample a wide variety of the menu’s offerings, turning dinner into a collaborative tasting journey. The ability to share made the meal incredibly relaxed and enjoyable.
The atmosphere was perfectly set for romance. We had reserved a private booth, and with the curtains drawn, we enjoyed a wonderfully intimate space that felt miles away from the outside world. The low lighting and sophisticated decor already provided a beautiful setting, but the addition of live music truly enhanced the experience, creating a great, upscale, and vibrant vibe that was still conducive to easy conversation.
Finally, the service was impeccable. Our servers were very attentive, anticipating our needs without ever being intrusive. They navigated the entire evening with professionalism and warmth, ensuring every detail was perfect.
Ocean Prime is not just a meal; it’s a complete, five-star evening out. Highly recommended for couples seeking a perfect blend of high-quality cuisine, a romantic setting, and outstanding hospitality.
The good stuff: service was phenomenal. Everyone was incredibly professional and polite. The drinks were beautiful and the plating fantastic
The bad: the food was incredibly mediocre. It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t $60 for a steak good. I drank the black orchid drink and it was alright, if not a little watered down. My partner had the black and blue mojito and didn’t like it at all.
I had the lobster bisque, filet (medium rare), and the vanilla ice cream.
My partner had the house salad, filet (medium rare) and the peanut butter pie.
Nothing stood out as amazing to either one of us. I will say when I mentioned this to a friend, she brought up the truffle popcorn and I had to ask about it. The servers were great and brought us some at the end of the meal. It was pretty good, but I wish I had known about it at the beginning of the meal to ask up front.
It was a 3.5 star experience
It’s rare to find someone who delivers this level of genuine hospitality. He elevated the entire dining experience, and I wanted to make sure his hard work didn’t go unnoticed.
If you’re dining here, ask for Matt — you’ll be in great hands.
