Absolutely the best meal we had in Boston in 2025! My girlfriend & I went to Ocean Prime for a special occasion in December and it did not disappoint.
The service from the staff was so kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed, talking through any dishes/specials, and making sure our special dinner went well.
The food, was on another level. The crab cake app was fresh and a nice intro, and then I got one of the specials that night – a red snapper over a risotto seasoned/made using their lobster bisque – amazing. The sides were nice as well, and they closed it out really well with a decent Crème brûlée & a 10-layer carrot cake the whole restaurant was ordering.
10/10 on all fronts, and already plan on coming back soon.

This is an outstanding restaurant and easily one of the best dining experiences in Boston. The atmosphere is upscale but still welcoming, making it perfect for a special night out or a nice dinner with friends. The food was incredible—everything was fresh, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. The seafood especially was top-notch.
The service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive, professional, and made sure everything at our table was perfect throughout the meal. From the drinks to dessert, every part of the experience felt high quality.

Year after year we go to Ocean Prime on New Years Eve with the kiddos and it’s one of our favorite nights of the year. The last few years we have had to good fortune for Chef James providing a BTS look for the kids, showing all the hard work it takes for serving 900 people in one night. Our server, Yvonne who we also have had the good fortune of having wait on us the past 4+ years on this night, is also tremendous. We frequent this location throughout the years for date nights, corporate dinners, family celebrations, and girls dinners and every time it’s top-notch. The drinks are amazing, the food is always delicious, and the staff from check in to valet are so polite and welcoming. Thank you for helping make our end of year celebrations so specials- we can’t wait until our next time in!

Had an amazing meal at Ocean prime a short time ago and must have forgotten to post a review. Started with the wedge salad but the star of the dinner was the fish. Perfectly cooked with a butter wine sauce that complimented the fish flavor without overpowering it. The butter cake was delicious and it’s one of my favorite desserts. OPs take in it elevated it above is humble roots.

I’m a huge fan of Google Reviews, so when I saw that Ocean Prime had 4.6 stars with over 2,000 reviews, I had a strong feeling it would be an excellent choice—and it absolutely was. This was a business dinner, so I didn’t take pictures, but the entire experience was outstanding. Our team loved everything we ordered: the tuna tartar, a sushi roll, and calamari—all prepared beautifully and full of flavor. I paired the meal with two glasses of Rombauer Chardonnay (my favorite) which was excellent. For the main course, I had the swordfish with pistachio—it was incredibly fresh, tender, and bursting with flavor. We ended the evening with their butter cake, which was decadent, and some perfectly brewed black coffee. The atmosphere was elegant, the service impeccable, and the food truly remarkable. If I could, I would give Ocean Prime 6 stars out of 5.
Second visit: it’s easily becoming one of my favorite places to go to. We took the smoked bourbon this time (oh so good, and was lovely as a Fall drink). My partner got the black orchid and that was a lovely cocktail as well (alongside being pretty)! Then we took the ahi tuna and the salmon teriyaki and both were mouthwateringly good, specially the salmon. This place is fancy and has premium prices, but it’s a wonderful place to have a celebratory dinner or just wonderful cocktails.

We made a 6pm reservation since it was a Friday night. We walked in 5 minutes early and were seated immediately, but it did get busy shortly after. We started with drinks as we reviewed the menu – a captain with coke and the berries and bubbles. The dry ice in the berries drink was a cool experience and tasted great. The manager, Tyler, walked around to welcome each table personally, which was a nice touch. We then shared the calamari as an appetizer, a filet with lobster tail and the 2 lobster tails for entrees, and the pumpkin butter cake and a crème brûlée. Everything tasted delicious; well seasoned, tender, melt in your mouth smooth. The pumpkin butter cake was unlike anything we’ve had before! The service was also exceptional – friendly, well-timed, organized, attentive but not overbearing. Overall a great night and worth the price!

We were served by Hector who was a highlight of the experience and obviously loves his work. He explained everything including the incredible nightly specials.
We got the wagyu which was incredible with a subtle earthy flavor. I also had a lobster tail which was nothing short of perfect. The brussels sprouts were also great, served with caramalized onions that gave it a sweet flavor.
The asparagus was sadly disappointing which leaves my food portion of this review short of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked (something i can never replicate at home) but the flavor was lacking. The hollandiase was a perfect consistency, but still lacking on flavor.
We also got a free scoop of sorbet for the event which was amazing and blew my girlfriend away.
lll be recommending this place to all my friends and will be returning.

We walked in without reservations. Asked for anything for two. Bar, lounge,.. etc. They were all slammed.
She kindly asked us to step aside & would see what she could do. She got us into a small table in the dining room which was delightful! More than we expected.
We just ordered apps & a couple drinks.
Drinks are standard. I got a negroni, my usual, which was made well.
The apps though…. fantastic.
Wife ordered tuna tartare which she loved. I had it over the everything “crackers”, I’ll call them, that were served in the bread basket. Bread & butter was great BTW.
I ordered the surf & turf, which i was a little weary of because it was small servings or short ribs & scallops, which you can easily mess up….
They nailed it. Buttery scallops, not over cooked. & ribs done just right. One thing though. They serve it with a some mash, gravy, & a gremolata. My wife wasn’t a fan… but that’s because she enjoys the traditional short ribs with a nice red wine based or beef based gravy. I loved it. Added vibrancy.
Anyways I digress. Great meal & our server was fantastic as well.

We visited this popular if pricey restaurant, which was recommended by a friend who lives in the greater Boston area.
I had the ribeye, oscar style (scallops and cream sauce on top of the steak with 3 spears of asparagus underneath). My 1st time trying it in this style and if I was a more experienced diner, I would have gotten the sauce on the side. Tasty, for sure, but I prefer my steaks pure.
My date got the filet with a side of lobster tail and she loved it.
Our server, a young, knowledgeable, soon to be mom, was fantastic!
And, as has been noted in several reviews, the carrot cake was delicious!
