Excellent Seafood, Steaks & Service!
So glad we found Blackbeard’s! My husband and I were in Claxton today for a Dr’s appointment and due strictly to blind luck, we just happened to find Blackbeard’s Restaurant. (formerly “Sea Galley”)
We were greeted, seated and served by a very courteous, gregarious and handsome young man named Adam.
When he gave us our menus, we were pleasantly shocked to find it had a wide variety of appetizers, sides, seafood-galore and steaks.
The prices seemed too reasonable to be true for such a variety of seafood and steak but it wasn’t too good to be true; it was reasonable and it was spectacular.
We started things off with an order of gator-tail and calamari…and then another order of calamari. The appetizer portions were large and we were quite hungry….and yes it was just that good. Both were lightly dusted and lightly crisp-fried to perfection.
I then ordered sea scallops for my entree which came with a choice of 2 sides plus hushpuppies, a drink and a dessert. (That was one of the many choices on the early-bird menu which lasts all the way up till 6pm). The scallops were delicious and cooked to perfection and the portion was very substantial.
My husband ordered an 8-oz rib eye and it was…again…cooked to perfection.
We are so glad we accidentally found this restaurant and we will be traveling to Claxton now more often just to eat here.
I’d like to thank our server, Adam, and I highly commend the chef and everyone else who turned our rainy trip to Claxton into the bright spot of our day.
We’re home now and our bellies are full, but we’re already thinking about what we’ll order next time we visit…which will be soon.
Thank you Blackbeard’s Crew!
