Occidental Saloon

  4.4 – 283 reviews  $$ • Bar & grill

In the rip-roaring days of early Wyoming, the saloon at the Occidental Hotel was famous far and wide. In the barroom, the lawful and the lawless played faro and poker… flirted with pretty ladies… drank copious quantities of powerful spirits… and occasionally shot up the place. One visitor in the early days called the Occidental Saloon a regular gambling hell, where high-stakes poker games sometimes continued for days. In 1908, the original rough barroom was replaced with one of the most elegant saloons in Wyoming. An imposing back bar with stained glass accents was installed, along with an intricately embossed tin ceiling, and impressive period decorations everywhere. All of this has been preserved and restored, for you to admire

Great experience! The food tasted good and the atmosphere was causal and relaxing. Staff are friendly and quick to take orders and check back often. Nightly live music gives the place a great vibe.

Such a neat place! I’m from Ohio and was there with my dad and nephew on vacation for Longmire Days, which was changed due to COVID-19, but we went anyway. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and we got to meet the owner. What a great guy! He literally gave my dad the shirt off his back when my dad asked him where he got it. We’re definitely planning on coming back!

Too many bad reviews. We enjoyed our time here. Take a look inside the hotel while you wait for your food. Savannah took great attention to us while she waited on many other tables. Bison burger was a hit. The steak tips and wings were also decent. The ten sleep beers were delicious as well. Thanks for a nice meal and a taste of the local flavor

Our group was not impressed with our food or drinks here. Our server was nice but after our first food and drink order, we didn’t see them again for half hour and we had to flag them down. The $6 chicken strip appetizer was only 2 small strips. We thought it was a mistake but they confirmed it was correct.

No food just drinks but long wait as there was a big table eating and several small ones and only one person working.
