I’ve been feeling sick all week and today I didn’t even want to go outside nor grocery shopping but I was hungry and decided to call around to see if places were making soup.
When I called the O’Cairns, at first they said sorry no soup until maybe this weekend. I wasn’t too worried but I must have sounded a little bummed on the phone and that’s when I heard the chef through the phone say…tell em I’ll make them the soup and it’ll be ready in 30.
The chef got on the phone and I told him I’d been sick for a few days and if it’s no trouble I would take like 2 bowls. He asked what room I was in and I said that I live down the street and so they took my number and said they would call when it was ready.
I drove down to pick it up and it made my whole week. I really appreciate the kindness and will definitely recommend this place to everyone.
They ended up pouring me the whole pot of soup to take home and a slice of cheesecake
Sonny was holding down the fort by himself on Friday night and doing a fantastic job while also still being exceptionally kind; Brett was our server in the AM and was attentive, engaged, and chatted with us about our stay (while still doing a great job with the rest of the room). The food was quite good (the chicken sandwich was stellar) as were the drinks, and we couldn’t believe the value for the visit.
This cute, quaint little place off the beaten Lompoc path is very much worth a stop for grub even if not staying at the Inn, and the people were just lovely. Thanks for helping us have a great (impromptu) anniversary celebration!
