I ordered two bowls of sundae soup and assorted korean blood sausage.
I think it’s mystery meat , the side dishes were not delicious and they were not fresh. Assorted sundae is dry, the smell is strong, boiled pork liver has a rubbery texture when chewed and a few ears are cut off. Everything is a mess. It was the worst experience. I won’t go again. I will never recommend it.

Nice hole in the wall spot for a busy plaza.

We came by for a late dinner around 8:30PM. No one was there when we ordered, but halfway through our meal, a few other folks had dined in.

We ordered two tofu stews, one beef and one seafood. Good tofu stews. Sides were good and staff was friendly to refill.

Parking can definitely be busy during peak hours.

There are many dishes not often seen in other Korean restaurants. We had the intestine tofu soup and sea food tofu soup and a Korean style sausage to go. The soups come with eggs inside it already. Lots of tofu with little intestines or sea food. The soup tastes great! There are many dishes and soups containing Korean style sausage. So we had ordered one to go. It comes with a spicy pickle sauce and pink salt. It’s clear green bean noodle and pig blood filled sausage. To eat it with the sauce, a pinch of salt, or the pickled vegetables is an adventure of taste buds!

Very comforting and sweet bulgogi soup full of beef flavor and yummy ingredients. Their side dishes are the most masterfully flavored I’ve tried in a Korean restaurant.

Missing ingredients for beef soup! I feel like they recycle the side dishes, maybe the rice too? ‍ (extremely dry fish cake, the rice has weird color and little piece of tofu in it)

no service

0/5, misleading menu pictures

I ordered the Nae Jang Sool Guk (spicy intestine soup with veggies) and it came out looking extremely different than on the menu.

It was supposed to come with enoki mushrooms, but it came out with no mushrooms at all. I had to ask our waitress about it, and I received a roughly sliced button mushroom instead. Not the same thing at all…

The picture also showed blood sausage, bean sprouts, etc. and my soup didn’t have any of that. You can see my pictures for what the menu item looked like, and what I actually ended up eating.

The soup itself was also way too salty. I hate giving a rating like this to a small, locally owned place but considering the prices, the taste, and the blatantly false menu pictures, I can’t give it a higher score :/

Bare bones Korean restaurant in Santa Clara area along El Camino near Lawrence Expressway – the area has a huge concentration of Korean restaurants sprinkled in strip malls for a 3 mile stretch. Very authentic and may not be fully appreciated by a non-Korean diner. The appetizers were not great but the entree (we had beef sukiyaki) was good. One of very few Korean eateries open at mid-morning. Service was polite and cheerful.

Low key restaurant specializing in sundae, I’ve been coming regularly for 2+ years but I thought I noticed their portions decrease when I was there last month.

Can’t get this goodness anywhere else. I miss living in this area for authentic cuisine such as this.
The soup is so warm and soothing with textures and flavors of the pork intestine that is so unique and rich.
I especially like the platter of soondae. I think the flavor of the sausage is stronger in this form over the soup.
And of course the side dishes are perfect, refreshing compliments to the entrees.
Definitely worth a try if you’ve never had it before and are feeling adventurous. I don’t think you can go wrong with any dish here.

If you like soondae, you must visit Obok. Almost all items listed in the menu are Soondae, Korean blodd sausage. Soondae soup is really good, and you can’t easily find this soup in Bay area.
