We had eaten at O’Blarney’s before but it had been quite some time. We decided to stop there for dinner.
The restaurant was empty so we had our choice of tables. Our server came right over with menus. I ordered water and strawberry lemonade. Ray ordered water and coffee.
After going through the menu several times I settled on the fish and chips. Ray ordered the shepherd’s pie.
Our meals came up quickly. My fish was nice and hot. The fries weren’t just warm. They were cold. Of course, our server was busy, so it was a few minutes before she checked back with us. She immediately went to fetch more fries and was very apologetic about them being cold. I ended up only eating my fish. The fries came home to share with my Amazon parrot.
Ray ate about half of his dinner and brought the rest home. He ordered a piece of carrot cake for dessert. Carrot cake is one of his favorite desserts. I took a bite but was not impressed.
Overall I thought dinner was OK but nothing stellar and not as I remember from past meals. I was also coming down with a cold and my mouth isn’t happy with the inflamed tooth. The fries were still cold regardless of how I was feeling.
This restaurant does have good food and pleasant staff members. Everyone can have a bad day.
The staff is awesome. They seem to enjoy working here…says a lot about a place.
I didn’t eat, but the food looked delicious, and everyone around me was talking about how good it is. Again…says a lot about a place.
I’ll be back…
Inside scoop: talk with Dana at the bar (great energy) about Hawaii…she’s got places, stories, and insights.
The food was delicious without being too salty or oily. The fries were like Jack in the box curly fries but thicker and tastier. The Lamb stew was a delicious soup, I wish it was served with a roll instead of crackers but still delicious.
Nicole was our server in our most recent breakfast visit, and she’s exceptional! Excellent service, great personality, and anticipated our every need.
We’ll most definitely be back soon!
