When we arrived at Rehoboth Beach on Saturday evening, we parked next to Obie’s by the Sea but weren’t quite sure if it was okay to park there. I went inside to ask, and the guy in the yellow T-shirt standing with the host was incredibly helpful and friendly. Thanks to his kindness, we decided to stay and have dinner at Obie’s.
Located right on the boardwalk, the atmosphere was superb. We ordered the lump crab cake and loaded crab fries. The crab cake was fantastic — no fillers, just quality lump meat. And the fries? Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and impressively stayed crispy until the very last bite — no soggy fries here! Highly recommend!

Thad our server was amazing! He was attentive personable and constantly made sure we had what we needed. He even offered a fantastic homemade avocado lime ranch dressing that complimented our meals. Love the view and ambiance. The patio and restaurant/bar overlook the Rehoboth Boardwalk and it is a convenient walk anywhere in Rehoboth. Will always return for good food, service and location!

Ok the crab dip was decent and that’s about it. We asked for ice waters and a Hawaiian daiquiri. The daiquiri was delicious but they over filled it and it slopped all over the table. The ice water came in plastic cups and rsted so chlorinated it was sickening. The manager was kind enough to get us bottled water so our service reflection is not on him it was on Bridget our server. She was friendly but we saw her twice. Once to take the order and the only time she came to check on us was when we were finished.
Ordered some chicken tenders and crab dip. The tenders were fair at best.
We did eat outside and that was just an amazing view. Our 3 stars for atmosphere was the flies. Yep tons of them and they don’t have any candles or anything trying to help. Im surprised at an average of 4.1 stars and that this place was highly recommended.

Great food and great service. This was our first time trying Obie’s, my family and I enjoyed it. I loved that they have grilled salmon on the kids menu. My daughter had that and fresh fruit, she was so happy with her dinner. Hubby had the fish sandwich with coleslaw and he said it was great. My bang bang shrimp tacos with a side of cucumber and tomato salad was also great. It was a light yet filling dinner. The mixed drinks we had were refreshing and tasty. Our server was friendly and was attentive. Prices are also within reason which is a plus.

Hate giving low reviews, but don’t order the crab dip to go. The flavor was good but the packaging was terrible. They served us the dip on a piece of paper, not in a bowl or a small container, just paper in a large container. The bread was also bad – dried out and not sliced. By the time we got the dip home it was everywhere & very, very messy.
Maybe getting this dish in store is good, but for takeout the seafood dip should be avoided.

Good bar right on the boardwalk. Mostly people drink here – the beer list and cocktails are above average. People watching is great. The food is pretty good, not great, but way better than years ago. We stay in a rented apartment nearby so it is convenient for us whether we are on the beach or just want a quick lunch when we feel lazy in the apartment.

The atmosphere is great, relaxing and friendly. You can tell there are regulars and the people know each other. We went for lunch. The food was not the best. The blackened chicken wrap had very little flavor and the dressing was bland and boring. The fish and chips were ok, nothing to write home about. We ordered a side of coleslaw to go with the fish and chips which was a no show until we asked for it after we had our food for a while. The oyster tacos were the best thing we got. They had good flavor and were nice and crispy. Aside from the food being so so, the service was horrible. I spent most of my meal without a drink. I asked for a water refill multiple times and didn’t receive it. She was frequently near our table and still didn’t refill my water. It sucks to eat a meal without a drink.

Oysters were good. The fried shrimp basket was wonderful, as was the lobster roll. Fried pickles and deviled eggs with Old Bay seasoning rounded out our repast.
