Oasis Drive-In

Social Profile:

The Oasis was built in 1927 to service the workers building the 9 arch stone bridge at the Grand River in Caledonia. With the advent of motor vehicles the bridge of course was the straight line crossing point from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie and the rest is history. Enjoy the ambiance down at the river front, great trail rides and hikes and of course great fishing too. Although known for its footlongs, Sirloin burgs, Fresh cuts and authentic milkshakes…they also make amazing Grilled Cheese on sourdough with real potato chips all made to order. Next door is the Haldimand House retail Market Place with cool shops, and lots of parking…come visit us and explore the area, …look forward to seeing you soon…www.haldimandhouse.com

This place is pretty awesome. These guys have been around for a long time. 98 years of service to caledonia town folk and the builders of the bridge. We ordered everything and some onion rings. When we went to get our onion rings, the owner realised the lady didnt punch them in. But he still gave them to us even though we didnt pay. Great dude. Had shakes after.

Had to drop by Caledonia to pick up some supplies. Saw this awesome little patio just over the south side of the Grand River in town. Lots of little tables under the cool shade of a tree with music rocking on a summer day. The Oasis drive in has been around since 1927. A must stop in the town of Caledonia. Hot dogs, burgers , fries, ice cream and milkshakes. Beside the restaurant is a biker gear shop a ladies boutique and some antiques in the back. Order the food inside and pick it up on side of the stand when you’re called. Good size portions and the food is good! The service I got was excellent and everyone was super friendly! I got the Original 1927 8oz hand made burger, stuffed with cheese. I also paired it with a generous sized Poutine. Great summer stop!! 5 stars!

Discovered this gem during a road trip. Tried the premium cheeseburgers- excellent. Would suggest the premium vs regular burger. Fresh cut fries and hot dogs were good. Patio seating only. Place is very popular and food is well worth the wait. Be sure to hit the cool shops nearby too!

Did you know about this hidden gem in Caledonia?

We visited this charming little café on July 20th with my family for a casual lunch, and it was a delightful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in .

The menu had a great variety of options, and everything we ordered was delicious. The footlong cheesy hot dogs with freshly chopped tomatoes were a hit , and the fresh-cut fries tasted amazing without any stale oil flavor . We also loved the homemade-tasting gravy .

The ambiance was cozy, with ample patio seating that allowed us to enjoy our meal in the pleasant outdoor atmosphere . After our meal, we treated ourselves to ice cream and enjoyed it by the edge of the Grand River, watching people fish in the gushing water after heavy rain. It was a perfect way to end our visit.
Overall, this café is a wonderful spot for a family outing or a casual date. The nice atmosphere, budget-friendly options, and cleanly prepared food make it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Great little burger joint with many ways to have them made and topped . My wife had the super dog and I had the homestead burger , we shared a large fries . Everything was hot and delicious ! Prices were reasonable and staff friendly. Nowhere inside to sit and the road was noisy on the Saturday afternoon of the May 24 weekend we were there so be warned . We enjoyed our visit there and would go again .

I love this establishment, I’ve been coming here since as far back as I can remember, so it always gives me nostalgic memories of my childhood. It’s a quaint place with outside seating, and very nice atmosphere with the grand river close by. They offer footlong hot dogs in all different toppings. French fries, gravy, and many other items too, their poutine is awesome here! This visit I got the classic footlong hotdog, fries, and gravy! The footlong was very delicious, the fries were nice and crispy, and the gravy was perfect! The staff here are very friendly. There’s alot to look at while your waiting for your order, they have photos of the past etc. I’d definitely recommend this establishment. Enjoy!

I’ve been wanting to try Oasis for years and finally did a couple weeks ago! We took the food home, so I didn’t take pictures but we enjoyed cheese dogs, onion rings and chocolate shakes and it was all very tasty and affordable!

The service was friendly, fast and had a true small town feel to it!

The shop itself, and the outside area around Oasis reminds me of old diners and the outside area is is a nice little spot to sit and relax, plus there’s all the stores to walk through close to Oasis and everyone is so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely go again soon!

Old-school fast food. Has great history. The food is good, no more expensive than other burger joints. Staff is friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating only and may get a bit noisy as its close to a main road. Love the place, we visit a few times a year.

Historic drive-in restaurant a stone’s throw from the grand river. Step into the nineteen fifties kiosk and place your order for fries, shakes, hot dogs, burgers and fish And chips. The coney dog is a classic beloved menu favourite (simply a chilli cheese dog but with mozzarella cheese) as is the Big Lou burger. Shakes are awesome.

Visit the Oasis on you next stop in Caledonia.
