When we pulled up we knew we had stumbled on something awesome. The locals are aware of this pal e and apparently it’s always rocking!
We had to park across the street on a week day!
The scent that wafted from the building already had our mouths watering!
We had to wait, but not very long. The folks we met while we waited were RAVING!

AHHH-MAZING Ribs and Pulled Pork. ½ Rack Combo is the best. We ate there 2 times on this vacation time. Green Beans are my go to, seasoned w the pork… Yummiliciousness!!! Staff has always been polite and quick w orders.

Chicken tender salad, superb. Full rack of ribs, meat fell off the bones and the taste, to die for. The baked beans, one of the best I’ve had. Even the lemonade was delicious. And Jessica was an excellent server. We’re from way out of town and googled BBQ places in Wildwood, chose this one because of the reviews, and they weren’t wrong. The place was packed as well, I guess the town knows where to eat excellent BBQ.

Poor Mgmt. So much for southern hospitality. After recieving a to go order and leaving a 20% tip. I sat outside for a quick bite at one of 3 patio tables when a waitress opened a side door to shout “No Dining Allowed here!!” Never in my life been yelled at a restaurant for sitting and eating their food?!
Sliced beef was good, collards were ok bit undercooked, Black Eyed Peas were excellent and regular and spicy barbecue sauces were spot on.

Everything is always very good here, especially the ribs! All the sides are good as well, service is always good.Prices are very reasonable and very decent portions, always leave full and usually with leftovers!

We were visiting our friends in The Villages and looking for a place to eat after our visit. Based on the reviews, we chose Oakwood Express Smokehouse. The food was very tasty. The greens we’re probably the best I’ve ever had. I really like how they bring out the small samples for you to try everything. I would definitely visit again. I must say our waitress was so nice and friendly and helpful. It has been a while so I don’t remember her name, but I won’t forget her excellent service. We really enjoyed our dinner before we headed back home.

I don’t know if we came on a bad night or what but this was our first visit & probably only one…
I ordered a medium rare Swiss burger & coleslaw. I asked if the coleslaw was sweet & was told yes but it wasn’t & flavor was lacking. Burger was rare & next to no flavor, patty appeared to be a frozen one, the way it was shaped. We got the corn fritters & they also seemed to be frozen type quality, ok at best.
Husband ordered the flounder, a sweet potato & green beans. The flounder had more breading than meat, the sweet potato was wrapped up in tin foil & when he opened it the skin still had several eyes still on it which isn’t a huge deal just kinda shocking when you open it up. Green beans were ok.
We both had high hopes from all the other positive reviews but what we experienced was very underwhelming. Service was great & the restaurant itself was clean but the food did not make us want to return.
