So happy I asked Google Maps to show me a coffee shop in Anoka that wasn’t part of a chain. Oakwood Cafe is family owned, it is a beautiful combination gift shop, floral shop and sandwich coffee shop.
I arrived just before 10:00 a.m. and there were several small groups enjoying coffee and conversation there.
There are 4 retro 1950’s tables that can accommodate up to six guests apiece, and then a long counter at the front window with high top chairs fit a single or deuce.
Ordered a strawberry lemon scone, the flavor was not as strong as I would have liked but the texture was great. With that a nice latte and I was able to spend time looking over the handmade gifts, wonderful collection of cards for all occasions, at a florist putting together bouquets and perused large collection of house plants for sale, too!
I really enjoyed a quiet moment here we’re heading out for my busy day. I would definitely returned with a friend because this place does not have loud music and it’s very inviting

Stopped in for a quick breakfast on the run and found this little treasure of goodness. Sausage, egg and cheddar on an herbed biscuit. The biscuit is fresh baked and scrumptious with a perfect crumb.

Cute little Cafe inside of a flower shop. The pastries are sooo good! We enjoyed the cinnamon roll and raspberry scone. Not very crowded and a good place to relax start your Saturday.

Breakfast today was unbelievably good! Ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches and while the homemade English muffin was great, I’d definitely have to choose their herbed biscuit as the winner for bread choice-just about as delicious as a biscuit can get! And the gluten free mixed berry oat bar was incredible too. See you tomorrow.
