Most of the pubs and restaurants near this place are packed. This place is not. Oak St Pub has an expansive outdoor area that many other bars would crave. Too bad they do not take advantage of it. There is a good reason it is so much emptier than the other pubs in town. First, the beer selection on tap is mediocre at best. A shame in a town with so many great beers made locally and no information posted about the beers available at all. The food menu is small in selections. I ordered Fish & Chips. For $17.00 I received 2 very small pieces of cod and basket of fries with enough salt to pucker your mouth. The fish was pretty typical breaded cod but 4 bites and it was gone. Way overpriced. The Pub burger was $16.00 and you get a few over salted potato chips with it. There is no table order service and the cashier also waited tables. I saw no other employees. And not exactly the cleanest place even given it is a dive bar.

Glad I didn’t read reviews of this place before we dined here, otherwise we might have skipped it. I’m not sure whether our experience was an anomaly, all the same we had a lovely experience at Oak St Pub!

I am not someone who posts negative reviews ever, but paid for a soft pretzel. It was undercooked, not great to eat, and gave me and the person with me food poisoning. The service was alright for sure, but the experience entirely was not worth going compared to other places nearby that are also cheaper with better service.

Have been going past here for the last 4 years without stopping in. Glad we stopped today on our walk to experience it.

Quaint old world style public house with some swanky outdoor seating as well. Love the belly up bar, but the most stand out thing about this place is the menu. Been several times and have yet to pick something from their food choices that I didn’t devour. Full bar and decent beer selection. A lot more options in their fridge than on tap, though.

Decent outdoor ambience but maybe the worst fish tacos I’ve ever had? Menu items are tacked up on the wall without prices, so I paid $13 for overcooked fish tacos in flour tortillas with wayyyy too much “spicy house sauce” that tasted a whole lot like Italian dressing with a kick. Was hungry so I ate them but the whole thing was overpowering. Order something else.

I don’t like to give bad reviews but unfortunately I have to do it here. Food was 3.5 stars, service was 0 stars. Combined a generous 2 stars. Regarding service: Everyone can have a bad day and there is no question that they were at least 1 if not 2 people short this day. But if every question you have is met with a sigh and an annoyed face. And if even in response to “Thank you so much” you get a “mhm” then I can’t give you more than 0 stars. Food was okay but not really warm. The atmosphere is cool. Being able to sit outside is always a plus.

There is a reason why it’s always empty. We stopped there on a Thursday night to find that one dude decided to try to cook (worst food of our entire trip), bartend, wait tables, host, all at once. Just keep on scrolling to the next place.

Went for lunch and had great food, great drinks, and great service. It’s nothing fancy, so don’t go expecting a gourmet meal, but it’s hot, delicious and perfect American pub food. I had the pulled pork nachos, and they were super yummy. Would definitely go again!
