Reviews
Reservations are recommended as it has very limited seating. The ambiance is very inviting, with beautiful but simple decor, reduced lighting and soft music.
You’re immediately greeted by a gracious host that will get you seated. Our waiter was Elijah. Such gentleman! Very personable and very attentive. Our service was impeccable.
The food menu is short and sweet , but offers a great variety. The drinks are creative, made with quality spirits and expertly crafted. I had the Chai me, and The Blacklisted. Both amazing drinks. My boyfriend had the Porch Swing and the Old Fashioned.
The food was flavorful and delicious. We shared the Bacon Wrapped sausage and the Garlic Chicken. The bacon Wrapped sausage was a healthy portion of pimento cheese, sausage and toasted bread, drizzled with hot honey. For the price of $12 it was more than worth it! The Garkic chicken was served on skewers in a bed of the most amazing creamy grits with pecans and a bourbon glaze. The salty flavor of the chicken complemented the sweetness of the grits.
This was our second trip, and we will definitely be back again. If your looking for ‘something different’ to do in Valdosta, this is definitely worth a trip to downtown.
The food is phenomenal. The shrimp arrabiata and tenderloin were absolute standouts, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. And the halloumi? Next-level good. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every dish.
The bar program deserves just as much praise. The espresso martini is top-tier, and the Old Fashioned might be the best in town—smooth, balanced, and crafted with obvious skill.
Most importantly, I’m incredibly proud of the owners for bringing something this special to downtown Valdosta. Oak & Olive fills a much-needed niche and elevates the entire dining scene. Valdosta is lucky to have it.
If you haven’t been yet, go. You’ll be blown away.
• EXCELLENT staff – maitre d was knowledgeable and welcoming – found our preferences but also recommended excellent drinks outside our comfort zone and we loved them! Our server was attentive and engaged: I cannot have gluten, alcohol, or carbonation and they made me a mocktail that was spectacular without acting like I am the ridiculous customer I am!
• CHEF – absolutely top shelf. Creative menu. While no gluten free menu per se, they generously modified items for me and I am still thinking about that food 3 days later. Still not convinced? The executive chef personally came to our table to see whether we were pleased with our food. We were – incredible! I had beef tenderloin with dijon cream.
• Decor is hip and modern but not pretentious. Lively but not loud and they have a party room.
