I had the pleasure of working with Basia on the design and catering of our sweets table for our wedding in Lake Forest. Basia understood my vision and taste immediately and executed my dream sweets table perfectly. We received endless compliments regarding the deliciousness of the sweets as well as the presentation.

Basia was incredibly lovely and professional. She even reached out after the wedding to offer her congratulations. I highly recommend working with Oak Mill Bakery for weddings and events!

They had little samples on the side which helped me decide what flavor I want.
The staff are sweet and take their time explaining the difference desserts and their fillings.
I really loved the long rolls with the cheese and fruit filling, it’s on the top shelf! (Not sure what they’re called)

Cakes and sweets are very delicious. Very beautifully made. Loved them.
Only one small thing they should try to change is staff seriousness. Smile for god sake. But as bakery it is amazing.

I had a truly terrible experience at Oak Mill Bakery and will not be returning.
I called ahead to confirm that a cake serving 16–20 people was in stock. I was clearly told it was available and that I could come in and pay in person. After driving 30 minutes to the store, I was informed that the cake was not available. To make matters worse, the customers ahead of me were also told that the cake they had placed on hold had been sold. This shows a serious lack of organization and accountability.
Initially, the employee who took my call claimed she did not remember the conversation, despite the fact that she had placed me on hold earlier. She was dismissive and unapologetic throughout the interaction and even laughed at one point, which felt incredibly disrespectful given the situation. She later admitted that she was in fact the person I had spoken to, yet she had not explained the full situation to her manager when discussing it over the phone. The lack of honesty and transparency only made the situation worse.
When I explained that my event was the same day and asked if any accommodation could be made, I was simply told to order for another day. There was no attempt to offer a solution, no meaningful apology, and no effort to take responsibility.
The overall lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service was extremely disappointing. I am still waiting to hear back from the manager, but regardless of the outcome, this experience has ensured that I will not be returning.

I came to get the donuts for the Fat Thursday, but I must say it’s not what it used to be.

They had dozens of various fillings that
I never heard of.

The classic plum marmalade didn’t taste good at all. If you want good donuts, look elsewhere.

Oak Mill Bakery is a delightful spot that consistently impresses with its wide selection of beautifully crafted pastries, cakes, and desserts. Everything in the display case looks almost too good to eat—and tastes even better. The European-style pastries are fresh, flaky, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, while the custom cakes are moist, flavorful, and elegantly decorated. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee and a croissant or ordering a cake for a special occasion, the quality and presentation never disappoint.

The atmosphere is bright, clean, and inviting, with a tempting aroma that hits you the moment you walk in. Staff members are friendly and patient, even when helping with custom orders or busy weekend crowds. Prices are fair for the quality you get, and it’s easy to see why Oak Mill has built such a loyal following. While it can get busy at times, the experience is always worth it—a charming bakery that delivers delicious treats and warm service, earning a solid four stars.

Decided to try this place out on fat Thursday. Paczki Day. Lots of varieties, including all types of mixed berries, chocolate, pistachio, Nutella, and many others. The only problem is the price. I paid $55 for 12 Pączki. I mean, I guess they are good, but are they that great, definitely not. Now I can understand why and what’s supposed to be the busiest day of the year there was hardly anyone in the store. The price.

Very over-rated – and incredibly expensive and outrageous prices. No cake on the planet that’s 10″ is worth $100!! Have been going to them since they 1st opened back in 1986 or so. I recently ordered a ” fresh fruit” birthday cake. Was very disappointed, the cake itself was dry, and they used all of 2 strawberries and 2 kiwi fruit and charged $100! What a rip-off. They truly have gotten so greedy over the years. Never again. They’ve lost their touch.
