NOW UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP as of August 23, 2025. Oak City Pizza & Grill is an alumni-owned pizza restaurant on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, NC near NC State. We hand toss our pizzas and bake to order, with crispy wings, stuffed calzones, fresh salads, and local favorites like Oakey Sticks. Dine in, takeout, and delivery available. Order online for fast pickup or delivery. Open late for students, families, and game days. Convenient to campus, Pullen Park, and downtown Raleigh. Ample parking available in Dan Allen Parking Deck (free after 5pm M-F, and free on weekends) as well as nearby side streets. Great food, fair prices, friendly service, and a clean kitchen. Pizza bar and grill with a rough parking situation and a small, mostly takeout-style setup. It looked inviting and was clean, and the order was ready on time. Menu had the usual basics but it was cumbersome, and the auto-added 20% pickup tip was annoying.
Steak and cheese 3.8/10
Pretty mediocre, and it came with mushrooms even though I asked for none. It felt like a value option, but still not worth repeating.
Pizza 4.2/10
Way too much cheese and just didn’t taste that good. It filled you up, but not in a satisfying way.
Mac n cheese 1.5/10
Basically inedible. Couldn’t get through it.

This place is an absolute gem! The pizza is legit New York–style — perfectly crispy crust, amazing flavor, and seriously delicious in every bite. You can tell it’s made with care.
They also have super affordable craft beers, which makes it the perfect spot to grab a slice and a drink without breaking the bank. The huge TV is awesome for watching games — such a fun vibe on game days!
They even have outdoor seating, which is perfect when the weather’s nice and you want to enjoy your pizza and beer outside.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and the owner is always around making sure everyone is happy and taken care of. You can really feel that it’s family-owned and run with pride.

Called in a pick up order. The girl was really friendly and helpful. Just got a 12inch plain cheese. Place was empty when we got there. Was clean. Well lit. Looked nice. 2 girls at the counter were also very friendly. Pizza was very doughy. Chewy. Lacking sauce and cheese. Sauce tasted good. Just not enough of either.

Amazing pizza and even better customer service! The cashier was super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. They offer a great-value lunch special that’s both affordable and delicious. The pepperoni pizza was rich in flavor without being overpowering, and the chicken pizza was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and nicely crunchy. The lunch combo came with a slice and a soda for just $4.87, which is an incredible deal. I also tried the root beer float, and it was packed with ice cream and absolutely delicious! Overall, an excellent experience. This place has quickly become one of my go-tos, and I highly recommend it!

One of the most genuine business owners I’ve met in Raleigh sense coming here for school. Just took over 2 months ago and the atmosphere is amazing. New outside decorations, seating, and a revamped menu. I will definitely be back, the food was 10/10. By far a new go to spot for me and my girl. Go check them out!! Locally owned as well.
