Food was disappointing.
I was in the area for a convention at the Baird center. This looked nice so our group went for dinner. I decided to treat myself to the “Signature Burger” and was looking forward to it, but it was small, dry, and had very little of the toppings described. This is their “Signature” burger? For $18?! Wow. Lame. The bun cracked from being a little stale. They skimped on the toppings so much I couldn’t tell if some things were there at all. I asked for some barbecue sauce to give it something. Still not worth finishing.
The mac and cheese and the wedge salad looked good. Overall, meh.
I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with coleslaw, while my boyfriend chose a burger. Unfortunately, my sandwich was disappointing—the chicken was overcooked and dry, the bread crumbly, and oddly, there was no mayo. Once I asked, the waitress quickly brought some on the side, which helped a bit. I still ate most of it since we had a long trip in and limited time before the show.
When Alisha (I think that’s how you spell it) asked how our meal was, I was honest but not complaining—just mentioned the chicken was overcooked. To my surprise, she brought over the manager, David, who apologized sincerely, removed the sandwich from the bill, and even offered to bring me something else. That level of customer care was completely unexpected and very much appreciated.
While the food wasn’t perfect, the staff more than made up for it with their friendliness and professionalism. Because of that, I’d absolutely give this place another try—just not the chicken sandwich next time, lol. The reviews about the great staff are definitely true, and I’ll be back.
The ambiance was great as was the service.
The butter fat popcorn was delicious. The food was very good as well. The burgers were good and the sides were decent.
It is spacious inside and there were plenty of tables – bar top and normal tables. If you are downtown, this place is worth a look.
We also did not send anything back or let them know. The food was so bad that we just decided it wasn’t worth it. We paid our bill made sure to tip the good service and made a mental note to never come back.
