Great cozy atmosphere. We went a week after opening and it felt like this place had been established for years. Very attentive staff helping on all tables to keep empty plates cleaned off. My husband fell in love with the burger. The starters are a must. They were delicious!! Best French onion soup in town.

We had the chance to try Oak and Anchor in Johnson City, TN this weekend, and we absolutely loved it! The Old Fashioned was expertly crafted, and the French Onion Soup was rich and flavorful. Don’t skip the Pimento Cheese app, it is a must-try! Even the kid’s steak meal impressed us with its quality and portion size. We’ll be back regularly to continue working through the menu.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere really stood out. The space has beautiful aesthetics, a fantastic music selection, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive.
I made a reservation ahead of time and we were seated right away in a great booth—I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. Whether you’re planning a family dinner, girls’ night out (they have a party area available!), or a romantic date night in one of the cozy back booths, Oak and Anchor is perfect for any occasion.

Oak & Anchor just opened last week here in Johnson City, and we decided to check it out with a party of seven — including two kids — and had a fantastic experience from start to finish.
The atmosphere and decor are absolutely impeccable. It strikes that perfect balance of upscale and welcoming, without feeling stuffy. Even with a larger group and kids at the table, we felt comfortable and well taken care of.
As for the food — it was outstanding. At our table we had the pork belly burger, a steak, the pork chop, and the seafood pasta. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. We were passing plates around and sampling bites of everything, and there honestly wasn’t a miss among the mains. You can tell real thought and care went into the flavors and preparation.
The only thing that didn’t quite land for us was the coleslaw — but to be fair, that’s a side dish that’s hard to truly nail anywhere.
Several of us ordered mixed drinks, and they were excellent. One person at the table said it was the best margarita they’ve ever had, which says a lot.
Overall, it was a great experience, especially for a newly opened restaurant. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Johnson City is lucky to have them.

Great experience overall. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and timely. The food was delicious and clearly well prepared. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, making it a perfect place to sit back and enjoy the meal. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Over all I would give them a 4.7 rating. The service was top notch and we liked the atmosphere. The bread is amazingly fresh and you can taste it. We ordered many items to try since it was our first time. The food is very good and season well. The only negative is the French onion soup. The was too many onions and not enough broth. It felt more like an onion casserole and not soup. I could also taste that the onions weren’t caramelized and I couldn’t taste any wine in the broth. I’m unsure if the soup is made in house or not. This was the only disappointment. Although it was our first time there, I’m ready to say it might be the 2nd best restaurant in JC but definitely no lower than 3rd. We would definitely recommend Oak & Anchor.

I am here from out of town. The food was great steak was cooked perfectly. All the waitstaff were great I was seated immediately when walking in and my drink order was taken right away. Jessica was very attentive and checked on me regularly. I appreciate these little restraunts.

Awesome service and atmosphere. Food was around a 7 out of 10, not bad but seemed to be missing something flavor wise. Steaks were a bit overcooked when ordered medium rare. Sides were wonderful, super rich and flavorful. The meal was a little over 100$ for 2 people and we got middle priced entrees. For a 100$ meal I do get a bit more picky and would like to go damn that was good, not leave going meh its ok. I would give them a try again, maybe the 2 entrees we got weren’t thier best
