My wife and I came in during WSU parents weekend. The folks was fantastic and friendly. I had the pork belly ramen and it was perfect. I recommend the home made chili oil, it was the perfect spice level and smoky. I’ll definitely be back!

My last review for o-ramen was 2 years ago, so I thought I’d update my opinions based on our most recent visit! I ordered the spicy vegan ramen and my partner ordered the spicy chasu sandwich. Something I appreciate about this restaurant is that when they say spicy, they mean spicy! The base of the vegetarian/vegan ramens is garbanzo bean, and I found it really tasty! It doesn’t have the density of a chicken or pork broth, but it’s flavorful. My bowl was packed to the brim with noodles, cabbage, jalapeños, bean sprouts, wood-ear mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots, and green onion. I would say that the portion size is about 1.5. I tried my partner’s sandwich and I found the chasu, by itself, to be quite flavorless, but with the addition of the spicy mustard (?) sauce, it was extremely delicious. I’ve always loved the ambiance of o-ramen and the service is always nice.
The only downfall is that their prices have become a bit steep. I’m sure that there is a good reason for the price increases, but it’s starting to feel less accessible. My ramen was $17 and my partner’s sandwich was $14.

My Husband and I had a wonderful experience celebrating Valentine’s Day at O Ramen. I ordered the miso ramen with a spicy bomb, while my husband ordered the tonkatsu ramen. They were both delicious and brought back memories of eating ramen in Japan on our honeymoon. Not to mention the service was quick and our server was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning soon.

Great gem in Pullman. Very authentic. With authentic flavors. Reasonable price but on the weekends can be a bit of a delay. And be ready to pay digitally but they do take regular pay as well. The flavor didn’t took my socks off completely. The tonkotsu didn’t do well for me flavor wise. I will try the veggie next time. I might bring my lemons.

I mean, let’s face it, in Pullman if you don’t want a burger, or a steak, or pizza, or wings, then you have an extremely limited range of choices for dining.

Fortunately there’s o-ramen to provide a very refreshing culinary respite, and it is a welcome alternative. Without a doubt the ramen is pretty good and I will not hesitate to have a bowl whenever I’m in town. In the context of Pullman eateries I would give it 5 stars.

However we do not live in a bubble, and the world is getting smaller and smaller, no better demonstrated by o-ramen itself and being established by a regional local.

And when you pull back and survey the world of ramen you’ll see that it is very competitive and the bar is set rather high. Would it rate well in Seattle? How about L.A.? Tokyo? Given this context I’d say that while o-ramen is decent it sits in the middle of the pack. I found the broth over-salty, but that could just be me. I did find it flavorful but I think it lacked any distinctiveness that would set it apart from any other.

The karaage was very tender and juicy, but the seasoning was uni-dimensional as I could taste only salt. Same could be said for chasu – cooked very well but very salty.

To be clear – I would not hesitate to eat here again, but that’s because it’s in Pullman. If I had a choice of other ramen places then I’d have to consider carefully.

Nice little place. Large selection for sake but no air flow, so a bit hot while I ate. Really enjoyed my food.

I ordered the Vegan Ramen. It was way better than I expected. Lots of variety besides just noodles. Scallions, garbanzo beans, bamboo in a vegan broth was very awesome.

Tried this place for the first time. Had their spicy miso soup with chicken. It was amazing. Loved the flavors, they have quite a variety of menu options to choose from, friendly and quick service, good decor and ambience.

My husband and I went here for two bowls. We ordered fairly quick and our server was very nice. But we waited an hour for the our food. And in-between our wait we weren’t told about any back up on orders or anything. And everyone around us (even people who came after us) already got their food. So I go up to ask about it and it seemed like there must’ve been a mix up so they figured it out and told me it’ll be right out. It was 30 minutes till they had to close so at that point we just decided to leave. I’ve worked in customer service so I totally understand if theres a mix up. But when there’s a table with no food and your just slacking off and talking to another server instead of checking on your tables is when it gets aggravating.

Great service with a friendly staff. We were lucky to get to meet the chef/owner and he spoke about his inspiration on his dishes. We ordered the tonkatsu ramen, spicy miso ramen and chicken karaage. The pickled jalapeno and ginger on the spicy miso was an extra kick.
