Delicious!! Food was fantastic and vibe was grat for date night or a semi casual dinner. It’s in a walkable place with plenty of other places to go for a night cap after dinner. Recommend getting a reservation if possible. Service was great as well. Our server was helpful and gave great recommendations. Black Magic and spider roll sushi was yummy. South End Tofu was AMAZING

I don’t even know where to begin.. it started with making a reservation for my wife’s birthday, then I wrote a message via Open Table.. they responded immediately and made my wife’s birthday utterly an amazing experience! Justin, Sam & Anna were incredible from the greeting, to the seating to the food and the atmosphere.. The management and ownership are absolutely Top-notch!!! NEVER have I been to a restaurant that made eating there an exciting experience… My wife and I are overwhelmed with gratitude for the absolutely amazing attention to detail, creativity and kindness that we were shown for her birthday. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the O-Ku dining experience to everyone that loves great ambiance, delicious sushi and a wonderful staff… THIS IS THE PLACE!! BEST IN CHARLOTTE!!

Overall, you can enjoy fresh and fair priced sushi at O-Ku given the food quality. We mostly enjoyed their nigiris which were all very fresh and exquisitely presented. If you are not the biggest sushi fan, I’d recommend the cooked and raw starters, or the Lobster & Mushroom main. Definitely finish on the sweet note and have the Pavlova – we all loved it!

Short version: we had the best sushi/meal of our lives here, we can’t recommend O-Ku enough, if you love sushi this place is a must-visit! OK, the long version: we got a last minute reservation for 9:45PM for our 11th anniversary dinner and even at that late hour the service was incredible and the place was booming. Our server made some great recommendations (I believe we had the Yellowtail Carpaccio appetizer, probably the single most amazing thing that’s ever graced our tongues and that includes trying the A5 Wagyu beef as well) and took excellent care of us from start to finish! Management was also very welcoming, they were aware it was our anniversary and even brought us some complimentary champagne. The chefs at the sushi bar were also engaging, entertaining and informative, we can’t wait to try Omakase on our next visit! Overall, our experience exceeded all of our expectations and was easily the best meal of our lives – this is coming from a couple who has dined at dozens of sushi restaurants up and down the east coast.

Great drinks and food! Expensive Japanese food but served in an elegant and sophisticated way. This restaurant truly holds a special place and is amazing for special events or date nights. The atmosphere is romantic and the food is excellent! The lobster temaki rolls are the highlight every visit!

Delicious. You definitely pay for it, but my gracious. So far it’s the best sushi I’ve had in Charlotte. Drinks are cool too, loved the Hello Kitty if you like a sweet martini type drink. Fabulous gluten free menu, I was able to have tempura! (Cross contamination doesn’t bother me, I’m sure there are options but they said the fryer is shared.)

O-Ku exceeded my expectations after being disappointed by sushi in Charlotte time and time again over the years. The knowledge and execution of the fish and accompaniments are spot-on, while the service and ambiance enhance the experience. Justin has been a memorable server for us on a few occasions and always remembered us and our preferences, including a complimentary toast of champagne for our first anniversary visit. Getting there after you park can be a bit tough but it is also located just off the light-rail for those who don’t want to park or have a designated driver. We arrived a bit before our reservation times in the past and weren’t sat until the time, so don’t expect to walk-in without a reservation, especially on the weekends

Service was beyond anything I could of expected. It was me and my wife’s anniversary and not only did they go above and beyond making us feel special with champagne and some sushi on the house. Multiple servers and managers came over to wish us a happy anniversary. Then to top it off have us a hand written anniversary card at the end of our meal/experience.
