On Nov. 10, I had DoorDashed 12 of this places Smoke Oysters to my house for a little dinner and admittedly they were very good besides 1-2 that had a hint of a sour taste, which at the time I thought was normal.
Come the next day Nov. 11th, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I could not stay out of the bathroom. Repeated returned with a gurgling belly that would NOT stop but I felt fine and was not any where close to so called “Sick”.
Now today, (Nov. 12th) for me today is THE SICK DAY!!! It’s obviously I have food poisoning from the oysters due to the repeated bathroom breaks and today my ACHING body and severe headache and me not being able to get off the couch without completely hanging my head over my steps walking. I have hence in the past 2hrs started having minor shakes which with ALL combined symptoms correlate to “Food Poisoning”. Again, I’m not asking for a refund because I’m not going to the freaking doctor but I wanna let the restaurant know and people who read reviews that 2days ago this restaurant obviously is selling bad and tainted Oysters.
We had onion rings as an appetizer and they were really good so I got them with my shrimp basket. Everyone’s food was wonderful and the food was nice and hot. I am a former waitress and it’s definitely a pet peeve to have cold food. The food is reasonably priced in the atmosphere is fun and kitschy. This is not a fancy place so don’t expect that. I will definitely eat here again!
Food, wife’s is fine. I go into my full crab, mind you I’m seasoned. It smelt so rotten and disgusting, I’ve had bad shellfish and good. I wanted to puke. Anyways wife’s meals fine, I go to steam up the crab legs she got. Shrimp turned into mush, cold mind you. Crab legs smelled exactly like my crab that I wasted because of the rottenness. I apologize to the owner, no one wants to hear this news. But before someone dies, or fatally ill. It was delicious while it lasted. Wish the best of luck
Came in for a friends birthday got to make your own boils crab, lobster, clam. First i would give it one star but our waiter was Great and i fill bad for the guy that he has to work her and serve what they call seafood. This is by far the worst seafood place ive been to and ive been to alot all over the country. The food was over cooked i didnt relise you could cook corn to the point it was like eating rubber. Everyone struggled to get the crabs legs open because of how rubbery they where the crab shell should crack open these took forever just to get to the meat and by then it was so torn up you lost half of it. Clam were ok but still over cooked LOBSTER WAS HERENDUS So to the guy the was our waiter Bud find a better place to work. To the rest of the place. I found out the reason there was only 5 cars in the parking lot. DO NOT RECOMMEND. EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES. HORRIBLE SEAFOOD.
I read reviews about this place before coming, and was worried about it being terrible. I’m glad the bad reviews were wrong. I have to say, the people commenting negatively about the decor and atmosphere have obviously never been to many seafood places. The decor is on par with pretty much any seafood place I’ve been to (outside of red lobster) it’s fun.
I also saw complaints about the seating being uncomfortable, but we found it pretty comfortable and accommodating.
Flavored lemonade was amazing, I highly recommend the passionfruit flavor.
We had hush puppies as an appetizer (any seafood lover would know that if the hush puppies suck, the seafood probably does too) they were delicious.
My husband got a shrimp po boy, it was huge! Comes with large juicy shrimp and the sandwich is bigger than my arm!
I got the flounder basket, equally delicious. The flounder was tender and juicy, while the breading was crispy and flavorful.
We both got the crab fries as sides and let me tell you, they put a PILE of crab meat on these fries. The fries themselves were cooked to perfection, a golden and crispy outside and a soft baked potato inside. They stayed crispy through our meal which surprised me because they had sauce on them.
We also tried a side of the sausage, which pairs perfectly with their house Cajun sauce. The sauce is good on everything we ordered, it’s super flavorful with just the right amount of heat.
Our waitress was super sweet and helpful, she helped us pick drinks and food with suggestions. She was very attentive during our whole meal.
TLDR: we absolutely loved this place and will be coming back. The food was amazing, pricing was definitely decent, the atmosphere and decor were fun and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly, attentive and inviting, helpful and had suggestions when we were trying to pick food. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, it’s amazing seafood for being in a land locked state!
