First timer tonight and WOW! I took home the classics, cheese and pepperoni. Sometimes sticking with the basics tells you everything you need to know about a pizza place (and boy did it!).
The pepperoni was large, fresh, and thinly sliced, full of flavor without being too greasy or overpowering. The crust is true New York style. It’s thin and foldable with just the right amount of crunch. You get those beautiful air bubbles in the dough and that light crisp on the bottom that gives it texture without being too hard. The sauce really stood out to me. It has that simple, fresh tomato flavor, not overly sweet, not heavy, just balanced and clean. I could taste the quality in the ingredients. The cheese ratio is spot on too. It’s melty and so flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The slices are very generous for $5 (some specialty are $6 and $7)! The owner also offered to add fresh basil on top, which can give it that little extra chef’s kiss. Now, let’s talk about the surprise of the night, those truffle fries! At the last minute I decided to add them based on another’s review of how good they were and I’m so glad I did. I’m not usually someone who raves about fries, but these were incredible! They were crispy, well seasoned, and full of that rich, savory flavor that makes you keep reaching back into the basket. I felt like I could claim an umami bomb. Definitely worth adding to your order. The ranch and aioli are both excellent too. The atmosphere of the place is so fun and has a very welcoming vibe. It feels like stepping into a little slice shop you’d find in a bigger city, but right here in Alton. The owner was personable, kind and generous. You can tell he takes pride in what he’s serving. I’ll absolutely be back, not just because the pizza and fries are excellent, but because it feels good supporting a local business that’s clearly putting care and quality into everything they do.

It’s hard to get 5 stars across the board, but they did it. This place is so cool and eclectic inside and the staff was really friendly. I appreciated their recommendations and honestly about the wait time (which was only a few minutes). The pizza was fresh, wood fire cooked, crunchy crust with great sauce. I got regular pepperoni and my fiancé got their Italian sausage with ricotta and peaches. Both were fantastic and huge slices, for only $5 each. We order the Nashville hot fries and ranch and they were made fresh with a good amount of seasoning on each fry. Savory with a hint of sweet. Definitely my new pizza place!!!!

If you refuse to eat St. Louis style then there is very few places in the metro that are edible. Obslices is highly edible and top 3 in the metro for me (union loafers and La Pizza are the others I’d consume)

Not a huge pizza but worth the price for sure, recipe has been improving but the prior iterations were great too. A bit like Neapolitan meets ny crust and stays crisp on the way home. Every ingredient is high quality and you can taste it

Great pizza and fries! We tried 1919 and four and loved each. The 1919 pepperoni was a classic and the combination of brussel sprouts, bacon, and mushrooms on four was a really tasty twist! We also tried truffle and salt and vinegar fries with ranch—BEST RANCH IVE EVER HAD.
Amazing quality. I will be back.

Give this groovy pie shop a try! We enjoyed a cheese slice & truffle fries. Pizza crust was crispy, and the homemade aioli for dipping is a must. Small space with no indoor seating, all orders are to-go.

Honestly some of the best pizza I have ever had. Definitely worth stopping by. Must get Nashville fries, great job. Hot honey amazing, not really spicy, but outstanding flavors. Maybe in the future a spicy or bbq pizza would change the game, and also an extra protien option. Very well done. Just my personal opinion. Very well done, much respect to the owner and DEFINITELY worth your time and money. Continue being innovative, he is on to something

I’m not usually one to leave a food review, albeit good or bad. I have to take a second and change that tonight.

If you’ve not stopped and tried O/B Slices in Downtown Alton, you’re missing out.

First, the wood fired pizza. DUDE! If you like the little dark/flaky/crunchy wood fired crust, this is it. Super crunchy, soft inside, and SO good!

Not only is the pizza great, but the little one man shop makes it even better. I was the last order of the day and you couldn’t tell he’d been making pizzas all day. Great conversation and very personable, nothing you’d see at a big chain pizza joint.

I’ve never walked in to a restaurant and told the owner I’d be back before even taking a bite of their food. I can say, especially after eating the pizza, that I will 100% be back and recommend you give this spot a try.

Great job O/B Slices! That’s how small business is done!

Also, I see these pictures of the pizzas being posted on here. There was a 0% chance I was stopping for a photo before eating this pie! Go get you some!

Alton needs more places like this to eat… Place is doing everything right! The pizza especially the dough is some of the best I’ve ever had – not just in the metro STL area but anywhere. Do NOT overlook his weekly pizza specials. He can create some incredible flavors on that pizza. Super nice guy as well so no doubt I’ll be returning as this is definitely the best pizza spot anywhere around.
