I decided to go to Nuway for lunch. I haven’t had Nuway for a very long time but decided since it was a cold day a bowl of chili would be good. I ordered their combo which also came with fries and a root beer. The chili wasnt bad but didnt really have the kind of taste I remember as a kid. The fries were fresh and crispy which was great and the root beer wasnt bad either but I felt it was lacking a bit of that bite. There are multiple locations so maybe next time ill try another one to compare.

I am a long-time NuWay regular / fan!! I LOVE NuWay! After I moved to TX & then KC, where there is no NuWay, I always went to NuWay to get my NuWay “fix” when I came back to visit family. I always get a NuWay “dry” (long-time NuWayers know what that means, & NuWay employees who receive that order know that customer has been going to NuWay for a looonnnnngggg time), the onion rings (the BEST!), a cup of chili with no beans & oyster crackers on the side), & a root beer or a root beer float. NuWay has always made their own root beer & their own frozen custard, both of which are deeeelicious!! The retro burger joint theme adds to the atmosphere when dining inside the restaurant, which I enjoy, so I always take the time to sit down inside & enjoy my meal & the retro atmosphere to savor the whole NuWay experience. The employees are always friendly & helpful & often long-time employees. That’s a sign of a well-managed restaurant, which keeps customers & employees happy & coming back, & makes the restaurant successful.

Got a #1 with cheese and fries, a large fries and a malt and a shake. Took 20 minutes to get food in yw drive thru and the fries were tiny. I would hate to see a regular of these were “large fries.” Other than that, service was great, friendly and upbeat. Food was way overpriced for what we got.

Came in around lunchtime with my 2 year old, he loved his kids meal with the airplane box. The person who took our order John, is one of the coolest nicest people I’ve met. Loved the pride the workers have at this store. We will be back!!!

The legendary crumbly burger of Wichita, at the corner of Central and Ridge. This is the most reliable Nuway in the city and is the last one really worth visiting. The root beer is still the best around and served in ice cold mugs, making it worth dining in just for that experience. Sandwiches, onion rings, and chili are also good bets to order here. My only issue with the original Nuway sandwich is that it’s always served luke warm and not as hot as a normal burger would be. It’s definitely a great place for children as they have an affordable kids meal served in a popular airplane box. Friendly service is hit or miss but this last trip had a welcoming vibe and the staff was fantastic. Nuway is still a staple to Wichita and I recommend this location to the ICT area.

I was very disappointed with the sandwich. I have been eating Nuway since I was a little girl and it has always been the same! Yummy. This time the meat was dry and burned!!! Crunchy even!! We got cheese on the sandwich and it was a cold piece of cheese slapped on there. The recipe forthe root beer seems to have changed also. Very sad to see a change in this menu. There was an option to get “dry meat “if you wanted but we did not and did not order that. I do hope they can get it straightened out.
