Found a piece of a metal in my general tso’s chicken…. White rice was crunchy… chicken was soggy… crab Rangoon had less than a teaspoon of filling. Will never go here again.

First time. Called in for a carry-out order and because my phone # is in Maryland, they informed me their in Bethany Delaware and I confirmed! No tables, just carry-out! Ordered a pepper steak combo that came with yellow rice and egg roll and I added 2 spring rolls to the order! I arrived in around 12 minutes, the order was ready! The service was great and when I got home, so was the meal! I’ve found my Chinese food spot!

Seriously they just upped their game. The food was delicious, flavorful, & fresh. The beef & broccoli was perfect. The Singapore rice noodle was so delicious. The garlic shrimp was flavorful. Thank you for being so great.

The service was great and I picked up my food in a timely manner. All I got was a chicken fried rice and egg rolls, but the quality was awful. The chicken was unseasoned and slimey… I couldn’t even eat it. The egg rolls tasted as if they had mush in them. It was my first time here and I was excited to try it, but I’m posting this as a warning to new comers.

It’s been a while since I couldn’t finish a Chinese combo meal but the kung Pao chicken I ordered tasted nothing like any version I’ve ever had with breaded, deep fried spongy chicken and dry fried rice. Schuan wanton also very different than expected, heavily breaded in a thick syrup.

9-21-2024 Update: No 1 Chinese Restaurant is the best on the entire shoreline. The people that work there are very kind and always get the order correct. The quality of the food is excellent! They give large portions and the prices are very fair. Their pork egg foo young is absolutely delicious and it is my favorite. No 1 is the best by far. Excellent food and an excellent business. Thanks No. 1.
4-6-2022: I have reviewed this restaurant before and wanted to send an update.
We ordered from Number 1 Chinese last night and the food was better then ever, if that is possible. What a joy to have such a fabulous restaurant so close to home. We are truly blessed to have such fine people running this establishment. We ordered scallops, which we always get and 2 combination platters. The food was simply amazing and the serving sizes were great. Delicious, hot, fresh, well cooked food in 15 minutes. Unbelieveable!!! Thanks so much Number 1 Chinese!!! You should be very proud of all that you have accomplished!!!
Previous rating: We have been eating Number 1 Chinese food for many years. Their food is absolutely amazing. The staff is extremely kind and efficient! We have never rec’d an incorrect order, everything is always perfect!!! Although there are other Chinese restaurants in the area, we never order from any of them, we always go to Number 1. No food could be better then Number 1’s. We live in Ocean View, DE and tell everyone about the wonderful meals we get from Number 1. The carryout portion of the restaurant is always clean and tidy. Thank goodness for Number 1, the best food ever!!!
