Our waiter, along with the hostesses and other serving staff were extremely professional and prompt.
I unfortunately have a weird array of food allergies and reactions right now, so my choices were limited but I had the salmon and it was perfect. The crisp ride and glaze were to die for. The papaya Caesar salad was another surprise gem I would come back for again and again. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and it smelled heavenly.
It’s not a cheap lunch option, but definitely worth checking out in the falls church area.
The lychee and butterfly-pea flower cocktail was light and refreshing, and the tamarind margarita had a perfect sweet-tart balance. For food, the crispy chicken lettuce wraps were crunchy and savory, the dumplings in chili oil were rich and comforting, and the shaken beef noodle bowl was packed with tender beef, herbs, and bright pickled vegetables. The fried chicken sandwich was huge, crispy, and juicy with great slaw and crunchy potato sticks.
Dessert was also a hit, warm Yuca toast sticks with coconut ice cream were a perfect ending.
Great atmosphere, great drinks, and delicious Vietnamese-inspired food. Definitely worth a visit.
Happy Hour states only in bar area, which is cute! There is also a “lounge” area that still honors happy hour prices with green couches and elevated ambiance!
Chicken wings: 4/5 crispy and nice flavoring.
Brussel sprouts: 5/5 sweet and savory with lychee! I can describe the combination of flavors here but must try!
Crispy Whole Fish: 10/5!! Perfectly flaky and seasoned! I had the medium which says served 2, definitely probably 3! Especially if you have starters!
They validate 2 hour free parking in the garage underneath!
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, each presented gorgeously. Everything we ordered looked incredible and tasted even better. Our server, Sam, was fantastic. He gave great recommendations, was very friendly, and checked in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. The service was fast, attentive, and professional. Every dish looked absolutely mouthwatering.
For our appetizer, I had the chili oil wontons. They were beautifully presented and packed with amazing flavor. For a drink, I tried the lychee Blue Butterfly drink, which was refreshing, fresh, and perfectly balanced.
For entrees, we had the Imperial Wagyu Zabuton, which was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The Coconut Risotto was also a highlight, with tofu and vegetables creating a comforting and delicious base. I added scallops, which elevated the dish even more. It was rich, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying.
Overall, NUE provides an exceptional dining experience. Every dish we saw being served looked equally tempting, so I have no doubt that anything on the menu would be delicious. Between the gorgeous presentation, the creative and flavorful food, the beautiful decor, and the excellent service, I will definitely be coming back. This restaurant is a must visit for anyone looking for a unique and elevated Vietnamese dining experience.
Honestly I wish I had taken the names of the dishes I ate but I feel like this is the kind of place where you can’t go wrong with anything you order.
Funnily enough, I had duck 3 times the week of Christmas but the one I had at Nue (though pricier) was by far the best. Sad to say that it might only be a holiday/seasonal dish but goodness gracious it was an awesome experience.
Looking forward to coming back!!
P.s. we ordered two desserts and they were both amazing. Again, I wish I took the names down but I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anything of the items here.
The Crab Asparagus Soup was pleasant but leaned unexpectedly plain, reading more like an egg-drop interpretation with asparagus and crab rather than the deeply savory broth I anticipated. The Seafood Chả Giò, however, was an undeniable highlight: crisp, vibrant, and perfectly balanced when wrapped in lettuce with herbs and dipping sauce — a dish that captures NUE at its best. The Short Rib Pappardelle showcased tender meat and impeccably cooked noodles, though its sauce leaned toward a familiar Vietnamese beef-stew profile, slightly less nuanced than expected for such a fusion-forward plate.
Service and ambiance remain polished and contemporary, consistent with NUE’s aim to elevate Vietnamese cuisine. While not every dish soared, the overall craftsmanship and thoughtful presentation make this a strong 4-star dining experience — and one that encourages a return to explore more of its menu
Good effort on the nicely curated cocktails, each with a touch of Asian ingredients
We opted for the tasting menu, and were pleased.
The crescendo of the exotic and yummy flavor adventure stopped when the last two pieces de resistance took a turn to Italian offerings. Why serve pappardelle with short ribs? And risotto?
This was a turnoff
The management should stick to their Vietnamese food strength and also consider adding Vietnamese crepe
