We come to the Webster area regularly for swim meets. Last year, we ate at Nucci’s with the team and had a nice experience, so we decided to come again this year. Never again. I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. We had a large party (14), and were arriving at 8 pm after our meet, but we called ahead and made reservations. When we arrived we were made to feel that we were putting the staff out by our presence; an older man ( the owner or manager?) ripped a menu from one of our party’s hand and basically yelled that the menu would be different because they were out of a lot of food. We should have left then. Then we saw the only other customers in the restaurant send their food back to the kitchen and get up and leave. Another chance to leave. But we stayed to hear the very limited menu, from which we ordered. An hour later we had not gotten any food. It took at least 40 minutes just to get the drinks we ordered. Again, we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant. The waitress was trying her best, but seemed to lack knowledge about the food and when asked about the gluten free status of items was clearly uninformed and did not make those with the allergy feel safe about the food. Also, it was uncomfortable to hear her being yelled at by the gentleman in the back. By the time the food arrived, it was so late that we all immediately asked for boxes and the checks, which took another 20 minutes to come out. Our poor young swimmers were exhausted by the end of the debacle, though I suppose we did do some team bonding as a result of the experience. Anyway, maybe it is a place to go if you are a small party with time for a long meal. The food was ok. Otherwise choose a restaurant that wants customers and knows how to serve a large group.

Growing up just outside Boston’s North end I know true Italian food, and Nucci’s does not disappoint. You can taste the freshly made pasta and sauces. This is definitely made daily and fresh. They even go full traditional with bread, oil with herbs and spices, and a twirling spoon for noodles.
This is my second time here and it gets better and better every time.

We came into the restaurant thinking it was going to meet our expectations and we did not except what would happen. We got there nobody there to greet us and got to our table. Brought us bread and looked over the menu and took a quite of bit of time for them to get back at us. When we tried to order the options were limited like they did not now what they even serve there. We waited over an hour which I would understand good food takes a while to prepare but not this place. We got our food and I looked disgusting. Like the just threw all of the food on a plate and called it a day. Not trying to be rude but it was the WORST food I ever had in my life. We asked for a refund and the waitress said she will ask the chef and we did not have to pay for anything. The environment was weird. It’s like all they knew how to do was sit around and argue. In the end we left the place with the owner being confused why we left but we went to another place instead. WASTE OF UR TIME.

EDIT**** I visited for a second time this time brought my husband and daughter. We made reservations. When we arrived there was another party waiting. I didn’t mind the wait because I really liked the food last time. While I waited I noticed a man go behind the bar and make some special coffee. The way he was preparing it was really interesting to me so I watched. A young lady that was working came behind the bar and asked the man a question. He turned to her put his face about two inches from hers and screamed at her while waving his hands on either side of her head. I instantly felt disgusted by the way he was treating this person. I told my husband what I had seen and I decided that I wanted to leave. I waited a little while longer and when the man came to seat us I let him know that I was leaving because I had witnessed him verbally abusing that young lady and he then decided that he would verbally abuse me also. He started waving his hands in my face and when I walked out he followed us out into the parking lot screaming at me. He was telling me I shouldn’t be watching what he’s doing that she’s just a worker and if she doesn’t want to get yelled at she should just do her job right. Then he told me to go put a bad review on Facebook because he was the owner, he’s old school and he does what he wants. So here it is. Needless to say even though I really enjoyed the food my first visit I’m really disgusted by the way the owner treats his staff and that he thinks it’s appropriate to scream at people. Humans deserve basic courtesy and dignity, even workers……. My daughter and I visited for dinner. This was my first time coming in. The food was all delicious. Our waiter Steve was so charming and attentive he made it a wonderful experience. We had potstickers for an appetizer, my daughter had the chicken parmigiana that was enormous and I had the Brazilian lobster tail. Delicious and beautiful.

Food was delicious, service was not good. There was no one even in the restaurant and we were in there for almost 2 hours. Took the server 15 to 20 minutes to come back to our table for drinks and such each time, but it wasn’t her fault because the owner said it was only her second night. Poor thing. I felt so bad for her. She had no idea what anything was on the menu, what it came with, what any of the drinks were, and we got the wrong check. This young lady was thrown to the wolves with zero training and zero compassion from her employers. No one was there to help her.
Mix drink had zero alcohol in it so we switched to beer/wine.
Front door was locked so we tried another door, and that was locked, but then the owner showed us to the only unlocked door and was very unwelcoming from the start.
Food, I will say, was delicious. Props to the line cooks/chef. Dont know how yall do it there.

I booked reservations with the owner for a party of 11 earlier in the week for Friday night at 7pm. When booking the large party I was not given any notice that a chef had quit the previous week and accommodating a large group would be difficult. I have been a patron of this restaurant for more than a decade, and numerous times brought the place large groups to dine there. Never again will I return after last nights experience. Our group arrived on time, we were seated and finally a drink order was taken 30 minutes later. The server did tell us upon arriving at our table that they were down one chef so things were running a little behind, and the restaurant was also out of NA beers that a couple of patrons wanted. We ordered a bottle of wine, and other drinks. He then brought us our drinks and took our food order roughly 7:45. Salads came out about 15 minutes later. We however didn’t think a little behind in the kitchen meant it would be another 2 hour wait before our main dinners would appear. Our waiter seemed to being trying hard in the restaurant to manage most of the tables leading to large gaps of any return to our table. One person at the table got up to seek out some answers around 8:30 and spoke to the owner who said speak to your server. We probably should have walked out then, but we waited as we were informed our food was just about ready. At this point the waiter said that the owner was comping us a vodka tonic, coffee, and iced tea that three guests drank, but could not comp the wine. Forward to 9:30, still no food. I then headed to the bar to speak to the owner. He tried to tell me I should speak to my server as that was my contact, and that the problem was short staff in the kitchen and our server should be handling it. I disagreed justifying that a 3 hour wait in the kitchen wasn’t on the server. The owners response then was he couldn’t get fully staffed so that was the cause, he ranted that he should just close the doors and that his customers could go elsewhere to eat crap food and not quality food like he serves there. Then he started to walk away to find our server who actually was just coming around the corner. At which time I was told our meals were coming out, returned to the table and between 9:45 through 9:50 all meals were placed at our table. Sad to say one of the guests food certainly was not quality. The ossobuco which he ordered was way overseasoned in salt. 3 other guests tasted it and all agreed. The other food was OK, but not worth a 3 hour wait.
At the end the waiter did also comp our wine and the one ossobuco. We believe the comp was coming out of the waiters salary, not against the restaurant.
Needless to say none of us from this party of 11 will return, and I will definatey pass our experience on to friends.

Took my husband out for a date night chose this place made reservations. Got there 10 minutes early sent us right away which was nice. Waited over a half hour for anyone to see us at our table. Winded up going to the bar to get drinks because we didn’t even have water yet. Talk to you I believe was the owner gave us excuses sat down the table waited another 15 to 20 minutes for someone to come take her order. Wait another 20 minutes just to get soup and our appetizer didn’t show up until after our super arrived. Placed order for dinner. They ran out of prime rib ran out of fillet only thing they had were T-bones. Got there at 6:40 left at 8:20 still with no main course. We cancelled the rest of our order. Told them not to charge for what we didn’t get. They waiter asked us if we wanted it to go. I told them no. We had movie plains at 8:30. So we winded up telling them to not charge us for our meals and just paid for our drinks or appetizer and soup. Worst experience ever don’t go there. Wast of time and money. Didn’t even give us a discount for waiting for over a hour and forty five minutes. Never again.

“ I am truly sorry for your experience. We only strive to improve on our little family run shop.
Nothing we can put to blame on but ourselves.
We did not though receive any formal complaints from other patrons on tonight’s service. Call our line on any other regards.
Thanks for dining with us.

This is their response to a one star review on Valentine’s Day 2026, I was also there lastnight and can attest there was multiple people complaining and I myself witnessed two tables of people get up and leave, and witnessed a server offer to buy multiple drinks for tables for the lack of service, the line of people with reservations were all complaining and wondering what was going on because no was was checking anyone in, and the hostess was completely rude and wouldn’t even look anyone in the eye and when she sat people she didn’t even say anything to them, just asked their name and crossed it off and walked away just expecting them to follow. I understand it’s your restaurant and you don’t want to make a bad name for yourself but to say there was only one person complaining lastnight is a complete lie, the entire restaurant was in shambles. By the time my wife and I got seated, waited over a half our for anyone to even come to our table once, and order, we had already been there about two hours. A waste of a valentines night and the whole atmosphere was tense and stressful. Will never be returning to this establishment.

During a recent visit to Nucci’s I was very disappointed. My expectation when I enter a restaurant for an evening out for dinner and/or drinks is that I enjoy a positive experience. I left Nucci’s frustrated with their lack of customer service. I sat at the bar for dinner and drinks with other customers already seated. The bartender basically ignored us. We had to ask to be served. Our mixed drinks were not to our liking and the bartender practically argued with us. He never offered a replacement option. We then had to ask for dinner menus. The bartender was abrupt in telling us a waiter would bring us menus. I could go on and on.. the waiter proceeded to tell us basic menus items that were not available such as soups & greens & beans. My soup was ordered and then wasn’t available. I switched to a side Caesar salad. Waiter told me it was an up charge. The salad was nothing more than romaine lettuce, a cherry tomato and a plastic cup of dressing. The meal was more than an hour in the kitchen being prepared. The dining room was not busy with only a few tables seated. After asking multiple time the waiter said he’d bring it out when it was ready. The meal was tasty but barely warm, baked potato was firm and definitely not fresh. While I eat out frequently most restaurants will cater to their patrons to be sure they have an enjoyable experience, that was not the experience I had at Nucci’s and while I’m typically an over tipper, my gratuity reflected the service and respect that we received from the staff and owner. As many of the Google review’s indicate, I won’t be going back. Lesson learned to ask for the price of special menu offerings. Our stuffed haddock with smashed baked potato was $43.

I only went for apps and drinks. I had the coconut shrimp and the orange marmalade sauce they had was amazing. I thought the best sauce I had with coconut shrimp was a Pina colada sauce but oddly this orange sauce was to die for. I then ordered a side of potato wedges and these were not your normal fries. To be honest they weren’t fries at all. This was the true definition of potato wedges. The crisp on them were perfect. I kept thinking why the hell is it taking so long for fries. But the wait was well worth it. This place will have you telling other places going fwd that they do not know what potato wedges are. I will be back the next time I am in the Rochester area.
