If you’re looking for high on calories but dang it’s worth it, Nubby’s is your guy!

We had a waiting time of 45 minutes on a busy Saturday evening, but we stayed. The aromas from the kitchen and the chaos in the seating area ensured we didn’t leave. We knew what we wanted even when the recommended dish were pizzas. The burgers looked too good to pass and we weren’t disappointed.

Creole BBQ Shrimp: They were half a pound and smothered in butter, but slightly lacked the Cajun seasonings and were over salted. Paired with the toasted bread it tasted fine, but this ain’t the dish that blew our mind.

Philly Cheesesteak: We chose the chopped ribeye and it was delicious. It was heavy, but we didn’t regret it one bit. My husband and I split the sandwich because we were both keen on the same one. It came stuffed with caramelized onions, sharp white American cheese on a fresh outta the oven French bread. We definitely drooled over this one. Paired these with beef tallow French fries and they were mouthwatering. Please do get this one even our server said people from Philly have said theirs tastes better than the one they get locally.

The Firecracker: If the shrimp was salty, the patty on this one had almost no salt. We loved everything about this one too, but for the slight hiccup of bacon even when we said we didn’t want any on ours. The server quickly got us a new one and we realized why the patty didn’t have any salt. It had the right amount of pepper jack, crunchy onions, Phathead Jalapeno Garlic BBQ sauce and jalapeno cream sauce that made the burger stellar. We paired it with asparagus and those were delicious. Thin and perfectly charred. The best ones we’ve had for sure.

Overall this place has the perfect menu for American food that will have you wanting more. A bunch of items that look and sound nothing short of delicious. We’d definitely be back for more because the pizzas had us wanting more, but there was no room even for a pinch of salt if you know what we mean! 😉

Great food and great service! Loved the pulled pork nachos, brisket egg rolls, Caesar salad, pizza, and my personal fave was the Mac and cheese! I believe our server was Megan and she was very kind and helpful!

We discovered this place through our Pizza Passport and it quickly turned into a favorite. The menu offered an exciting mix of choices that kept things interesting. We tried the brisket egg rolls, the tipsy chicken sandwich, and the goat pizza and every dish impressed us.

We start it off with chicken and dumplings and onion soup with garlic cheese bread. I then got a 3 meat combo plate. The Texas burnt ends just tasted like some roast that wasn’t very tender, but the turkey and the brisket I did enjoy. We also ordered a 1/2 baby back it did have a good taste. Each meal came with 2 sides green beans were tasty had bacon in them, Mac and cheese was just alright, and tots are tots. The small pizza was a great size about a 14in, meat lovers hit the spot with all the pork you could ask for on the thin crispy crust. Waitress and staff were kind and helpful would love to come back and try some of there favorites that they where out of tonight; like the pork steak, shrimp, or pork belly burnt ends.

Today, my dad and I went to Nubby’s BBQ Telegraph and the food was incredible! We got the smoked wings which were huge and delicious! I got the ribeye cheesesteak and it was massive! The meat was juicy, tender and falling off the sandwich. He got the half chicken and he loved it. The sides were good to.
After one bite, we immediately knew we had to make Nubby’s a regular spot in the lunch rotation. Rating: Infinity /10.

By far the best bbq I’ve had in STL! I had the 3 meat combo platter with Texas burnt ends, pulled chicken and smoked chicken, with baked beans and green beans- the green beans have the best flavor as does the pulled chicken. The burnt ends were PERFECT. The chicken and dumplings is like my grandma used to make and AMAZING

The meat was kinda dry but I guess I should of expected that with burnt ends. Brisket was decent, the Mac and cheese blew my socks off though. Service was good and price was not that bad. Would eat here again but try something else

Here is the silly, I only have Nubby 4 stars for food because I have only eaten there once. I was ear hustling and people at other tables said theirs was good, mine was great. Their menu was full, and looking at other people’s stuff it looked very good. I will eat there one more time and come back and readjust – it’s a safe bet that it should be 4 stars. After only being here one time I think it’s a very safe restaurant to recommend.

We love this place! First time at Nubby’s, we arrived mid-afternoon when traffic was light. Looking like a typical bar/restaurant, ambiance was low key and inviting. Server Sarah quickly arrived at our table with a smile, bringing our drinks and taking our food order in a quick minute. She was amazing, very friendly, patient, and attentive.

I was anxious to try the pastrami sandwich. Normally served on marble rye, I requested it hot (you can also order it cold) on their seeded french bread with provolone and grilled onions, added mustard at the table. My wife decided to try the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries.

My pastrami sandwich was amazing, excellent quality meat on a perfectly buttered and grilled french loaf, it melted in my mouth. The fresh and hot onion rings were quite delicious as well.

My wife loved her pulled pork sandwich, a generous portion of superbly smoked pork with plenty of savory brown bits. I tried a bit of the pork myself and completely agree with her assessment. It was juicy and very flavorful with just the right amount of smoke. The fries were hot and crispy and perfectly seasoned.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service and, despite living more than 30 miles away, will definitely return. Highly recommended!

This place did not disappoint! The food was outstanding — full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The highlight of our visit was our server, Maggie. She was knowledgeable about the menu, incredibly kind, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Service like that makes all the difference. We can’t wait to come back!
