Moved to the Burg about a decade ago, but, being an OTR trucker, I’ve not had a chance to explore.
My house sitter suggested lunch here a couple of weeks ago and I was floored! Being from a Florida tourist town, I always preferred the local beer dens to the flashy DJ dance clubs. THIS is my kinda bar!
Grabbed a bullseye burger and onion rings and they were both over the top. I had to eat all the rings while they were hot, but, the portions were so hearty I carried most of the burger home. It was still great a few hours later.
I’ll be stopping in again, for the food… you bet!, but, just for the atmosphere as well.
It’s refreshing to see that unpretentious still exists in today’s world. Just a place to feel comfortable and welcome.
Thanks for keeping it real!

I called while out to do a to go order and the person sat the phone down for 20 min. I got there & just ordered there. This was my second experience like this. They do have really good burgers so I’ve kept trying hoping the experience would change. Today I got a hot dog and a burger to go. My hot dog was trashed and just rolled up.

Fantastic group or regulars. Bar staff are wonderful. When the weather’s good there’s outside and inside open. So you can listen to music or sit back and have a quite convo.

Can’t review the food, service as we were never waited on. Stood in line during bike night for over 10mins. and unless you were wearing a certain patch the bartenders/waitresses didnt want your order or money. As for the atmosphere, if you like hole in the wall, dingy, tables with no laminate on them and stained, coupked with your feet sticking to the floor this place is for you. Never again Nu-Way.

First time eating here, dive bar atmosphere and food at its best. The redneck burger was off the chain, and the not from around here burger was awesome. Friendly staff

Was looking for a chill night out after moving some things and right before my bday. Googled places and decided on Nu Way because of the reviews. They were spot on and accurate. Environment was welcoming and not too crowded. They have a jukebox. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious, especially those wings. Crispy just like we asked. Also had a live band who was awesome as well. Will definitely be back.❤️❤️

After living in Spartanburg for a couple of years, I finally made it to the historic Nu-Way Lounge, about which I have heard much. Friends had also informed me that they serve some of the best burgers in town. When I made my pilgrimage to this 80+ year old establishment, I wished that I have come sooner, and I surely will return. If you are looking for a “dive”, this is the place. That said the service was excellent and the food even better. We ordered the area-famous Redneck Burger, and I order the tater tots in place of the house chips. I like tater tots, and these were well prepared – crisp on the outside and tender on the inside – and seasoned with their special fry seasoning. (Not sure what is in it, but I like the special flavor) The Redneck Burger lived up to its hype, and I would definitely order it again. This restaurant has its own personality and is a welcomed fixture on Kennedy Street. We look forward to future dining experiences in is unique establishment.

Service was appalling. First time there. She asked what I wanted and I asked what she had she literally said “if you’re going be that way” and walked away. Most rude experience I’ve had thus far. Cook wasn’t cooking anything. So we left…I try to support local businesses, but I won’t be disrespected.
