The food was decent in taste — enjoyable, but not exceptional. If you’re someone who prefers bold, traditional Indian spice levels, you might find it slightly toned down. That said, it was still a good dining experience overall.
Quite simply, this was the worst curry I have ever had. The curry sauces lacked depth of flavour and tasted processed and reheated rather than freshly prepared. The meat was very tough, dry and difficult to eat, making the dishes largely inedible. For a restaurant specialising in Indian cuisine, the quality of the curries was far below what would reasonably be expected.
The rice and naan also failed to improve the meal. The rice lacked flavour and proper texture, and the naan was unremarkable. Overall, the food represented extremely poor value for money.
We were also surprised to be charged extra for soda water, which added to the overall disappointment.
In addition, the spice levels of the curries were far higher than expected. I regularly eat Indian food and am familiar with a wide range of restaurants, but here the heat overwhelmed any remaining flavour rather than enhancing it.
As is often the case, we chose not to complain during the visit and simply paid and left. While the venue and service may be suitable for those looking to visit for drinks, we would not recommend it as a place to eat based on our experience.
For those with allergies or coeliac – loads of gluten free options, however they make you sign a waiver to indicate you understand the risk of cross contamination, especially from the spices. All mains are gluten free, so I took the risk and luckily didn’t get glutened. Unfortunately when our food came out the naan my companions had ordered was touching one of the mains, so I just didn’t eat that one, but for other folks with similar needs it might be best to order the naan after mains have been delivered to further reduce the risk of cross contamination.
My meal was delicious but portions are small and breads etc are extra.
Glass of prosecco was £12!
Upstairs and very busy and a little cramped but the staff were lovely.
We were celebrating a friend’s 60th so there were a lot of us.
