This little sidewalk bistro in downtown St. Pete is such a great find! It’s small and cozy with a nice laid-back vibe. The menu is pretty diverse for such a quaint spot, and everything we tried was delicious.
I had the chicken francese and it was full of flavor — tender, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was amazing. My buddy ordered a mushroom dish and loved it just as much.
The staff were super friendly and attentive the whole time, which really made the experience even better.
All around, awesome food, great service, and a charming atmosphere.

Great drinks with s friendly bartender and staff. Food is a secret not too out there yet. As soon as I saw and smelled the Italian dishes I knew it was authentic Italian. But how could that be at a Spanish bar/restaurant. Do I asked the bartender who told me the owner is from Rome. Snd there you have it. Can’t wait to ho back.

The food is ok, the service is ok. They’re clearly understaffed, but the only guy facing the public, serving tables, and the bartender does a great job juggling through all the tasks. The location is great, the view eating outside is kind of cool. Things they can improve, improve your selection of Italian wines, you’re an Italian restaurant! The wine needs to be refrigerated in FL weather, a hot wine exposed to 95 °F weather all day long is not appealing. Food portions can be increased without breaking the bank. The cost per plate can easily hold some extra pasta… Small details to become an outstanding Italian restaurant!

We typically avoid Valentine’s Day dining because even strong restaurants can struggle during peak nights. This year, we grabbed the last two seats at Novu Bistro — and they were packed the entire evening.
Despite that, the execution was flawless. The rigatoni alla checca and grilled pork chop (our go-to dishes) were outstanding in both flavor and presentation. The service was attentive and polished all night long. You could see the owners working alongside their staff, which speaks volumes about the pride they take in their restaurant.
Whether you’re in the mood for a full dinner in St. Petersburg, a small handcrafted pizza, or a cocktail at their European-style bar, Novu consistently delivers. Their after-dinner drink selection is excellent — they even carry Strega.
In a competitive St. Pete dining scene, Novu Bistro stands out — especially on the busiest night of the year.

We were very pleased that we chose this place. Perfect location for ‘people watching’. We’ve ordered tuna tartare, salmon with spinach and frutti di mar pasta. Everything tasted great. Our server Angelina was super sweet and professional. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

Absolutely loveeee the indoor/outdoor feel of this bar. Super nice waitress with an awesome recommendation: the crabmeat & avocado bite during happy hour which were pretty good (you get 4) The spicy mayo sauce it comes with is good, and the wonton chip is flaky and adds great texture diversity, but it lacked the flavor I’d hoped for overall and I wish that the peppers (or celery?) were smaller and not competing with the avocado. I would’ve liked less peppers and more avocado lol but they are surprisingly filling! Maybe I just caught them on an off day? I’d give it a 8/10.
I had a mojito and sadly the balance was off, there was too much seltzer but lots of mint. I wanted to like it so badly! I will still be back here because the vibes were great.

Such a cute spot to grab a drink and a snack in St. Pete. My bartender, Jillian, was great at giving drink and food recommendations. She even put music on from the band I was in St. Pete to see that night.

My wife and I went recently with our 10 month old son. We had a fantastic meal and they were super accommodating. Great happy hour specials on wine, drinks and apps. Food was excellent and the outdoor space is a great spot to relax and enjoy a nice meal. We’ll definitely be back!
